Start it and the alarm will shut off.

That is strange. It's worked with mine. Try disconnecting the battery for a while.

Here's what I found in a recent thread with the same problem-

    sometimes, this will work...
With the battery disconnected, turn the key to "on" position. Connect battery and try to start...

awesome man! I tried this before but it didn't work. so we tried it again, still didn't work so we turned it completely off and then on again and then bam it started right up!!!

    From the alarm manual-

    To deactivate an alarm:
Press and release the remote control's top button once, or insert the key into the ignition switch, and turn it "ON-ACC-ON".

Turn to ON back to ACC then to ON.

The couple times I've had to do this, I probably did the on-acc-on thing while trying to start it and didn't even know that was the correct procedure.

This would have been nice to know a year ago when my wife stranded me for the day (I only had one remote at the time and she took it by accident). Spent about 2 hours fooling with it, finally pulled a few of the fuses and let it sit for awhile, seemed to work. Obviously this is much easier. Thanks Mark!
