    ROTM interest???

It seems that lately interest in the Rig of the Month has waned. Do Y'all want to continue it or let it die?

I'd still be interested. It's great to hear the stories and see the mods of the ROTM. Besides, I'm getting sick of seeing a Proton on the front page everytime I come to the site.

I like it but I think we've got to get away from this give people two months because they're busy trend. I understand that life is busy, but I think it kills the momentum of the threads.

Since we have so many newer members recently, it gives them lots of ideas, and also more potential ROTM nominees in the future.

I agree that it breaks the momentum. The first time was caused by Moab & the second was Scott's availabiity (not the honoree). Maybe we'll see if that's an admin function that somebody else can take on.

I'd like to nominate Sue for that function.

    frankly

as spread out as everyone is I dont see how a proper nomination/vote can actually be fairly done.

What does our physical location have to do with it?

No offence meant, but I found it to be a PITA to be nominated in a "wintery" month.

Never really got a chance to shine her up because of the weather...

That's a good point Dub, hadn't thought of that. But surely it's not that big a deal for someone to take that into account in the future? Scott could just add that consideration to the ROTM instructions.

Yeh...all winter nominees have to be south of the manson/dixon line...

If I lived in the north (So glad I don't) or any location that had bad weather or any seasonal weather going on when I was nominated ROTM I would not worry too much about being able to shine it up, but take the weather as an opportunity to maybe make a vid of the truck in action. I think it would be awesome to see a VX drifting through the snow slinging muddy ice with all 4 wheels spinnin! Same if it were hurricane season here in FL (and one actually hit) it might be fun to see my truck in a vid climbing through and around fallen palms and burried/flooded low rider import cars!!! Just a thought that it doesn't have to be shiney to be a great rig, and from the pics in your gallery I think it would be awesome to see your truck in action much more than shiney in the driveway.

I think all of the above points are valid.

Seeing that the current ROTM holder got to nominate who was next, then surely they could PM their selected member before the announcement and ask if they wanted to accept.

Once you accept, then you are obligated to keep it going.
If you don't accept, then it all stays private in the PM, and another person is contacted etc.

I think it is an excellent way of highlighting all the different uses, modifications, and needs that as individuals, we all have for our rides.
Not everyone will agree with them, but someone might just get a new idea from seeing how others have done things.

    Just my tuppence worth.

I didn't have anything in the instructions about shining the rides up.. Why not show off au natural. The pics are your choice.

Now there's a scary thought, PK & I think alike.

That's exactly what I did. The first one I contacted politely refused since he was in the process of selling his.
