Well, a few of us joined up for an informal gathering in Las Vegas this past weekend. We had a great time, with lots of fun... and lots of spirits..
Had a great convo with the Dubster...oh, but that reporter already filed a report on that....
Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...... unless Kat has her camera .....
Mike & Anita, Jay Dunford, Greg (Orion), with VX Crazy Lisa in front
Mike & Anita, Jay Dunford, Greg (Orion), with VX Crazy Lisa in front grabbing something....??? We're sorry, we can't control her....
Lisa
The gang enjoying a great lunch at a deli in the Mirage hotel.
Some obscene amount of Pastrami on a single sandwich....Both Jay and Anita gave it a try, but neither could finish it!
Jay enjoying a cold one while we were hanging out in Anita & Mike's suite.
Greg & Lisa being cozy.....
Lisa and I getting ready for a fun evening!
I tell ya that Lisa is just plain obsessed with my, um, um.....she's always grabbing them.....member Moab '10???
My hubby Dave with his traveling bar all set up...ready to play mixologist!
Dave & I
After a great evening of fun and friendship hanging out with the gang, consuming a few, er um, spirits....around 100 am Kat discovers the hotel roundabout; (and the hotel hallways!) while piloting her rental scooter....woo-hoo, around and around we go! Yee Haw!!
Too much fun! ....and no damage was inflicted nor incurred...well except Lisa and I couldn't stop laughing...
Greg & Jay promised they'd pimp my ride when I finally get one of these...they'll make a great bull bar/brush guard since I seemed to have a wee bit of trouble stopping in time... and then put some mud tires on it!
VX KAT
....the adventure BEGINS ANEW! ...2015......
Remember that life is not measured in the breaths you take, but rather in the moments that take your breath away.
The only down side to this fun time....an IDIOT cab driver slammed into Lex Kat on the freeway in Vegas, while we were stopped dead in rush hour traffic! Smacked us pretty dang hard as he was accelerating coming up behind us! Both Dave & I could see him coming in our mirrors and nothing we could do! IDIOT!
Had to wait IN THE CENTER DIVIDER/BeRM with the 2 vehicles half way blocking the #1 lane, until the special Taxi Cab unit of the police dept, the regular police, and the Taxi company's insurance adjustor arrived. Then the police blocked all 5 lanes and escorted us across to the other berm where it was safer.
I got a bit twisted up from the impact and was fairly sore in my back and my right arm. Had my seat belt on thankfully cuz he really popped us hard.
The good news, the cabby got cited by the police and got fired from his job due to the severity of the judgement error and the citation. At least it was a taxi company with insurance.
No, it can't be something easy...no, it's a white pearl paint...I know from my last pearl car that got swiped (by another idiot) it's extremely hard to paint match it with the right amount of mica, hue, and light reflection....oh joy...this should be fun over the next few weeks...
Also, I think the rear quarter panel has a slight crease, right in front of the gas filler door. You can see the difference in the spacing where the fender and quarter panel meet...
paging Luna-X.....
p.s... Yes, I thought, hey, since we're driving 250 miles, why not throw the super bumper on the Lexus for the trip, hey, it can't hurt right?
T4B & JAMAS.....notice anything ironic in these pics....???
p.s.s...Hey Eric.., at least my Nittos are still balanced !! hehe
Glad you guys r okay. Sad to hear of the accident. Wish I would have attended and met some cool peeps. Maybe next year...
ditto that
Glad you guys are ok. Make sure you document any of your soreness with a trip to the doctor. If those aches turn into problems later, you want to be able to charge it back to the insurance company.
As for the Spare bumper....At least you don't have to worry about sending it back on top of everything else.
Hey Sue,
Glad all the human body parts are ok... but can't say so much for the GX body parts..
Lookin' at the pics, you will need to make sure you go to a full service body-shop that has a frame machine... The lower part of that lt quarter will need to be pulled out. And by doing so, will relieve the pressure that is causing that buckle just below the gas filler door.
That color shouldn't be a problem...

What a great time seeing everyone, too short of a time, but great way to get me by til Moab! Sue I do hope you get checked out as you seemed dizzy saturday night LOL! I think I have to turn in my party card, I obviously can NOT party like I used too......but had way more fun remembering everything!
Ask forgiveness, not permission.
Mike and I had a blast! To celebrate our anniversary we splurged on a tower suite with bar, big screen tv's everywhere (including one that popped out of a cabinet at the foot of the bed), dining area and a bathroom as big as a normal room. It was a pleasure to finally meet VXKAT and her hubby Dave and Greg (Orion). Seeing Lisa and Jay always reminds me of just how fond I am of my long-time friends.
We did meet a Las Vegas (Henderson) VXer. Chas711usa (Charles) who is an original owner of a 2001 Ironman. He still has a warranty!!!! It was a too brief encounter but I was glad to have met a fellow VXer nonetheless.
The Mirage was a great place to stay - and I think we need to do this again next year!!!

Original Owner- love her too much to part with her.

Sorry to hear about the damage Sue, clearly you needed one of these:
Tom tried to tell you, but somehow I just don't think it would look right on a Lex.
Looks like a great time, I always find myself wishing I lived further west when I read threads like this, Moab, etc... :sigh:
Actually, that's exactly what someone said as soon as we got together...but I can't recall who it was...maybe Jay??... Yeah, we had a good laugh about it. Said I was goin' order one up from T4B!
I've been waiting for Tom to weigh in on it. The irony that I put the bumper on just that morning as a "oh, why not, just throw it on for the trip"....and then the dude completely misses it...was just amazing. When I got out of the truck and walked back there, I fully expected to see the superbumper smashed into his radiator, and was so surprised to see he completely MISSED it!! He swerved to the left at the last moment when he realized, DUH! there was a 2 1/2 ton truck in front of him!
Sorry I'm so late joining in.
Yesterday was a holiday & today I've been neck deep in getting orders in for a quick trip to St Louis, MO tomorrow (I leave right after my interview).
The damage to your Lex looks just like what I did to the back end of the Escape. However, I'll bet he didn't try my big finish by driving on 2 wheels & landing on top of a van.
Looks like 'Idiot Cabby' would've missed even the larger size bumper like I got.
Glad Y'all are OK & that it was still drive-able so it didn't totally ruin your weekend. I heard you were kinda dizzy afterward ... how could you tell?
