Has anybody put a Kenwood or other aftermarket radio in
the Isuzu adapter block has 2 orange wires labeled illumination I assume these are for diming . The stock unit and will be left blank after the installation of the new is this correct

yup... the orange wires are for dimming with the headlights on and brightness control from your dash knob.
just pick up a wiring harness for an isuzu and match color-to-color.
its an extremely simple and easy dash to take apart. just look for screws and you'll be fine.. something like 7 of em..
search the forums for radio installaton. lots of pages out there

Do some aftermarker head units come with dimming capable since the truck is wired for it?

My JVC headunit has the dimming feature.
x2 on what pbkid said about using the Isuzu wiring harness. Super easy to hook it up. Just match the colored wires together and you are good to go.
