Russian VX in the snow vid

This is a pretty cool vid of a JDM VX over in Russia tearing up a virgin snow field.

Hopefully, the driver knows what that field looks like without snow and that it's totally flat without any hidden obstacles. It would totally suck to damage the VX undercarraige by running over a hidden boulder or tree stump. That said, I'll stick to empty snow covered K-Mart/Wal-Mart parking lots where I just have to know where the light poles and basket returns are located (much safer).

This is our buddy Dashlapov again daring to break trail in his JDM VX, along with two lesser capable vehicles. He doesn't have the most aggressive tires, but he makes up for it with a very heavy throttle.

I love the way he just floors it and goes, no fear!

Well, our buddy Dashlapov and friends are at it again, doing what they do best, tearing it up in deep snow. However, the snow is getting deeper and this time they have a little more than they can handle. Even his VX gets stuck! As you'll see, the preferred method in Russia is sideways rocking, not pushing from either end when you're stuck.

Awesome stuff! I wonder if the sideways rocking is similar to using the handbrake to move power away from the spinning wheels. Can you tell what tires he has (good shot of the tread at 5:22)?

edit: and that Hummer looks pretty good in flat black paint!

I think next winter he'll have all-terrain tires on there and have even more fun in the deep snow.

They sure have fun over there. Whether it's summer in the mud or winter in the snow. It's great to see people in a faraway land get together with all kinds of vehicles and just have fun.

Thanks, YouTube, for making this kind of video sharing possible.

Well I guess that rocking from the side is a lot safer than pushing/pulling from the front/back.

These guys could totally make commercials for every car company represented in that video.

I guess these guys are out every weekend. More of the usual was just uploaded today. I don't know how much more that VX tranny can take. It's just WOT all the time with that VX. Something has gotta give.

If he'd get a much more aggressive tire, he wouldn't need so much throttle and he wouldn't be spinning his wheels stuck so much.

Anyways, it sure looks like fun-

His odometer probably reads 200K, while the VX has actually only moved 20K...
