Just filled up last night. From a full tank, all city driving. Waited till the gas light came on just to run it low enough to get a legit # on my MPG.
Last full tank got me 236 miles. Fresh full tank cost me $41.15.
My dream in also my curse. I can live with it.
EDIT: Also, this is WITH a HotShot intake, PV exhaust, and the Interceptor. Maybe the 285/60's play a small part in this, but as I said, "I aint skert!"

Yep... $40 a tank, ain't it grand! My last tank gave me around the same (236 miles). I have a PV and interceptor (I don't think it matters), and an SC of course.
Just about everyting that matters is stock with the exception of the K&N drop in air filter. Tires @ 32psi. I do most of my driving with the windows down and the stereo cranked, so I am sure I could get slightly better numbers. BTW 87 octane runs $1.59 per gallon and 93 octane runs around 1.74 in my area so $35 fillups are not uncommon

Man, the east coast seems always to have cheaper gas... bastids!
Like i said before,
I went 390 miles on my tank, went to fill up and had .8 gallons left. I drove on the highway almost all the time. I have a k&N and tornado.
Where can I get a cat back system? I wonder if it will improve the mpg whatsoever?
please help if you can, thanks Val
Ironman
Cat back is not needed to get the benefit of the PV Muffler (and more than doubles the price) or any other free flowing muffler on the VX but several people with the PV have seen improvements. I do have the muffers in stock when you are ready.
When I put the PV muffler on I saw a 1mpg increase, definately worth it if you don't mind a loud mufflerOriginally posted by valenki

2001 Ironman Daily Driver... 3.5" suspension lift (OME912 springs and 1" spring spacer), ball joint flip, 1.5" front diff. drop, 33"x12.5 TrXus MT, 16x10 Eagle Alloy rims, Interceptor, PV muffler, K&N air filter, Alpine Supercharger, Bilstein shocks, and some trimming.
2000 Ironman Project LS-1 VX... very slow progress but someday....... ohhhhh someday......
When I put the Cat-Back system on, my MPG went from 16 to 19. Now it is back down to 17.5 with the custom chrome intake.
Definitely worth the price. I liked the Cat-Back as it was a bolt-on system - I was able to do it myself. If you buy the PV muffler, you will have to get it welded...

Well, let me put it this way:
First: I am very interested in buying one, how much does it cost?
Second: I have just invested a whole bunch of money into my multimedia system and my credit cards are maxed out. As soon as I get that christmass bonus I am inn !!!! Thanks, Val

would love for petrol prices to drop a little (a lot)

I envy u guys...
In Hong Kong a full tank costs me about $90 (Yes...in USD)
I drove on highway mostly but still it is $0.2 / KM (I guess 1 KM = 0.6 mile)
.....and mine is a 3.2L engine only.
Would that be, kilometers?Originally posted by lenny
