When I purchased my 2001 VX the dealer said he order the front license plate bracket. After 3wks. I was told that there is no such bracket. Just to remove the small plastic piece and that where it mounts. Is there a bracket?

Nope, there's no bracket.. Under the 10 inch or so cover, there is 2 holes and that is where you bolt up your plate. I bought a nice heavy duty frame with a cover to prtect and reinforce my plates.

Scott is right...no bracket, just a rubber cover that screws in to cover the holes (hard to get though if you don't already have one). Check EBAY for custom license plate frames. I had a great one made with my initials along the top and "VehiCROSS" on the bottom....your choice of colors as I recall

Anyone know a place to find more license plate brackets like this one below? Simple, black steel. I got mine at PepBoys and they only have Black plastic now. Doesn't protect the plate much.

Pep Boys has a steel one with a clear cover now that also has horizontal ridges... matches the VX styling. Don't know if their inventory is the same in all areas.Originally posted by Daver

Daver - I love that shot of your VX. Can you send me a pic of a side view of those OZs? What tires do you have on there?

Not sure how it might look on the front (not that great, I suspect)....but...
I have this one (in black) on my rear door. Looks very good there. Almost as if it were original equipment.
They claim it to be The Fort Knox of License Plates

What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?

FWIW, the one I got a PepBoys for $30 has the same back/front/ABS/special tool (read: allen key) setup. Not sure ifthe fact that it's 2lbs of steel is really a selling point.
But if it looks good, that's the key. I'll take and post some pics of mine when my (*aherm*) new plates finally get here.
