Do I understand this correctly ? Are the amps actually inside the rear seats or screwed behind the rear seats? This would be interesting to find out.

I have spend a lot of money and time on my project. It is getting more frustrating by the day. I was hoping to have everything done before the fair but now with some components behind on shipping it doesnt seem possible at all.

I actually have no mods on my car yet at all except the tornado and the k&N.

Maybe if I take one of those hot Russian chicks to the fair you guys will think better of me? How about 2 hot Russian chicks?

The tubs that hold the amps are inset into the seatbacks for a flush mount. They have a small lip around them that is about 1/2" tall and 3/4" wide that covers the cutout in the seat and is covered in the red vinyl.

This was not a real easy prosess due to the construction of the seats. There is a 1" round tube across the the seat back that had to be cut and the support foam is formed/poured around a 1/4" wire mesh grid that also had to be cut out to fit. The tubs use the cut ends of the round tube and a dowell to fasten the bottom into the back and make it a little easier to remove if needed.

I'll take some pics tonite so you have a better idea.

Yeah, I did the same. It was a lot of work, but worth it in the end.

a couple of shots of the seat in the attic up in my gallery now. I'm trying to find some old shots of when they were still installed in the truck.

    Amp install is sweeeet!

Do you think you compromised seat strength? after looking at your in process shots I was thinking of making some 1/8 steel angle to frame and TIG to the seat inner braces.

I'm sure they were structurally weaker, but I had people back there and there was no give to them with someone sitting in the seats. If you weld something to the frame it would be stronger but you will only get 1 - 2" of depth into the seat before hitting the cross bar.

What I'm sugesting is cutting exactly as you did, but using steel instead of MDF to frame the amps, and welding that in where the original tube touches.
