    Running Boards

Have to say I've never been a big fan of running boards, but then I saw this ad on CL earlier today and thought these look pretty good. Anybody know who makes them? I can't find anything on the board, and the owner already replied back to my email to say that they were there when he bought it.

Member MIDN USA made a custom set himself, but the ones above seem to look better, at least from a distance.

    Guesses anyone?

Like everyone else, guessing the ones above were maybe modded? Don't remember ever finding stock ones on any forum or any of the frequent (obsessive-compulsive) searches online. They look nice,m just figure I'd break em off in a gully.

I agree though, I still like em, as they really fit the ergonomic lines of the VX, even though they don't fit the look I am going for on my own ride. Hopefully someone knows something, I'm curious to know how they were made.

They look like the ones that came on some of the ford exploders.

ya i agree with billy. The bars that were on my 99' were from an Explorer, but they weren't that style:

1999 Isuzu Vehicross-#1209- lots of mods - gone
1995 Honda Passport: Lifted, Locked, 34x10.50's, just a few things..-Click for build thread

Probably the very best website for Running Boards & Nerf Bars is www.TruckAddOns.com. They carry all of the brands and models, and some of their Running Boards even have shallow lateral storage compartments built-in to carry things like booster cables, first-aid kits, etc. Their website is definately worth a look!!!

Looks like those will cut into your ground clearance dramatically. Otherwise, I likes 'em.

I don't think it would be any worse than my nerf bars are now...

My uncalibrated eyeball indicates they would be about 2" lower.

The fire extinguisher is prolly about the same diameter as the NERF bars, so everything above that is additional loss of ground clearance.

Well I suppose it's all academic anyway since they cost $1500 and are only manufactured for HD pickups.
