    this might help a little...

The gray area around the perimeter is sanded all the way down to the factory primer
The white smaller areas are sanded all the way down to the substrate
The black areas are the orig finish, just scuffed (mistake)
Unfortunately, I just stuck the scoop on with double stick tape before I blended the hood scoop in with body filler (another mistake)

I hope to have time to take a "do-over" this summer.

def remove the old stuff before you paint....it's like thick shelf paper...sort of. Get all around the edges real well and all. It's gonna peel otherwise,,,,,,promise

Ever think about covering it in the vinyl that they use to wrap vehicles?

    Just a thought.

I had mine wrapped in vinyl. You could have any number of graphics made up. I simply kept mine looking stock.

Mine is vinyl'd too! Though most thought my design was... off...

    It's blackbeards flag!

When this wears off, and it's already starting to bubble, I'm thinking of a carbon fiber background with a different skull and crossbones.

Here is one of the very first painted inserts, VXCaver's "alien bat". He painted it at least 5 years ago and it is still holding up well under the Arizona sun...
