JAMAS custom storage box - Fantastic! Gotta getcha one!

Just got my custom made JAMAS storage boxes from Jon. They're absolutely great! This is one of the BEST mods I've ever done and well worth the cost. They fit perfectly, follow the curves of the walls, and fit snug so they won't walk or move out of place, and they're solid. I had him make mine slightly taller so they'd fit my Sigg 1 liter water bottle, so the top of the box DOES COVER the two wall cubbies. I'll have to remove a box to get in those cubbies, but that will be rare. It was worth it to me to get the 1 liter bottles to fit.
They hold way more stuff than I thought they would!

Two custom cubbies to hold my 1 liter Sigg water bottles. Plus one additional custom cubbie for a quart of oil. Jon also made me a custom recessed area for my dogs' water bowl, and lined the top area with vinyl so drizzles won't ruin the wood. It's only going to have water in it when we're stopped, but it's a really handy feature....as I'm sure anybody that ever takes their dog along will understand.

Here's my first grouping of Bunch-o-stuff stored in right side cubby.
5 qts oil, Dremel in tool bag, role of paper towels, funnel, 2 microfiber cloths, tape measure, Leatherman tool, extra cordage. This is all in the SMALLER box! (It has the 3 cubbies on the right, so they're walled off, reducing the storage area in this box).

Second version.....of Bunch-o-stuff stored in right side cubby.
5 qts oil, small air compressor, role of paper towels, funnel, 2 microfiber cloths, tape measure, Leatherman tool, extra cordage, role of double stick 3M tape, ratchet strap, two capsule type containers with various screws & such. This is all in the SMALLER box! (It has the 3 cubbies on the right, so they're walled off, reducing the storage area in this box).

I took many more pics, can see them in this Picasaweb album:

We also have a larger version of the collapsible water bowl, tried it too yesterday and it also fits the recess, it's not flush, but the recess still holds it nicely.
Can see it in one of the pics I posted on picasaweb:

Anybody have a suggestion for how I could make one of the boxes "locking" ....to meet state gun carry laws? Not sure it would meet the law, but gotta start with getting it locked first.

What if I drilled a hole in the lower part of front lid, and one in the base, maybe I could get a padlock or one of those circular padlocks.....
guess I need to check out some lock sites and see what shapes there are. Gotta be something more elegant than that....

A standard tool box lock just has a little arm that swings down when you lock it. If you would find one deep enough this would work nicely just install it so that the arm catches on the bottom lip of the box when locked

Or this one would probably be even easier to install, drill a hole and screw this in from the back side of the door with the lock coming out the front

Can I order a box like this? How much do they cost?

Allllllllllllllllso, KAT, how do you have your bungee net hooked to the rear cargo door? Do you have a picture of that setup? Like just the inside of the door with the net hooked on it?

    Cost is roughly $300 shipped.

its rather time intensive to get them made and shipped so I usually like to do batches of them.

I might put the "word" out again and see if any more people are interested.
