would think you want to splice into the camera input. that should be composite video at that point.

Then you need a way to switch from rear camera to DVD, and a switch to trick the headunit into thinking tranny is in reverse to enable that input.

    Hi lenny,
When I bought my VX there was a long list of things that needed doing. One was the fact that the LCD was not working having tried a number of car hifi dealers in the area who all wanted to charge me mega bucks or flog me a new unit these guys felt it was a challenge and managed to get Clarion in the U.K. interested in sorting it out which they did (it was sent back to Japan) so they would be able to tell you if you can put any other unit into it. At the rear left hand side is what I think is the camera junction box and I noticed a conector there which is either BNC or coax there may be some way of connecting this. Anyway I have posted dutchie who owns a Japanesse spec VX and is out in Japan at the moment asking if he can help.
    Best regards

    tv unit!

Sorry for the away from the PC bit!!!!!

The Tv unit is based around Clarion. But Clarion don't know anything much on this unit, they are only made in Japan (now stopped) specifically for the Vehicross).

Like David, when I purchased my Vx I took around to plenty of ICE specialists, who told me the same that it couldn't work/be converted.......and wanted to charge me the earth, with no garuantees!

Well I gave it to a friend of mine (who is a specialist ICE) and basically brought a few tuners and fited a multi regional dvd/vcd/mp3/cd player. There is a menu system on the TV unit or the ICE system itself, which you have to play with to have it all linked and set ready to play any dvd/cd/vcd's etc

    re: Easiest Way

    Hi,
I guess the easiest way is to have the audio and video cable pulled from the back of the DVD and fixed to the front of the Head unit, the inputs.
As for the hand brake release, find the ground wire from the head unit which is connected to the hand brake, pull them apart and constantly ground it. This will allow you to see the movies when you are driving.

Lenny can you still use the reverse camera?

    hi

yes i can if you use an aftermarket screen as i have

in the back theres a box for the rear cam and you can run an rca cable to the screen

i also rewired it so i can drive with camera on all the time
