    paint codes

Did a quick search, know it's here but need to get out the door. Anyone have the paint code for the white used on the iron man. Need to get some paint asap, but my paint guy doesn't work the weekends, thanks.

I need to get some touch up paint for my VX. Do you guys think a paint shop could mix a small can? Or would calling Merlin be a better idea?

Probably specific for one year. I wonder if the codes changed over time.

I had just that done and the painter didn't charge anything for about 250ml, but he did comment that a full Foxfire repaint would be very spendy.

Oh man, I had 6 OEM bottles Ebony for sale back in February.
Mark Hardeman and JoFotoz each bought 3, maybe they want to sell a bottle? just throwin' it out there...

Bart, like Sue said, I just got three bottles of touch up paint from her and I am NOT going to use them all (just wanted them on hand for a rainy day). If you want one shoot me your address and I'll get it out to you.

True but the difference after ten years of fade is pretty substantial.

unless the sun has actually started to delaminate the clearcoat to the point of peeling/flaking, a quick buff/polish will bring that color right back....

I beg to differ. Paint pigments change over time due to a variety of effects including ultraviolet light, chemical reactions, degradation of pigments. Only some of these are mitigated by a clear coat. Getting paint to match and match over time is very difficult.

    x 2...

When I had mine in the shop for some repairs, the Boss man at the body shop showed me the chip samples within the same paint code, that compensated for years of exposure to the elements (there were 30 or more)...needless to say, I was impressed with the level of care my Suzy was getting, & there is NO way I could have ever seen the difference between some of those shades of astral...

    But he could...

At that point I realized why the name of the place is..."Fargo's Finest Auto Body"
