First I'd remove the dash bezel...three screws above the gauge cluster, couple more over the top of the screen, then LK around for more screws. (I can't remember em all) Then carefully pry the bezel off. It's mounted with spring/post type doo-dads. Start with the lower bezel, as it overlaps the upper trim.
After the bezel is off, look at the few screws on either side of what you wanna remove, & the rest will become obvious....
Final Step: Ship head unit to vt_maverick.
For a minute I thought English was your second language... "spring/post type doo-dads"... If it comes out in one piece you can call round and pick it up any-time.... I'll even buy you a beer... you couldn't bring me the Curt hitch on sale right now while you're at it???
made I larf... I must be so far up my own @rse... Ta for the reality check...
Did you sort this mate?
You need to take the fascia off with the air grills, then there are 4 screws holding the screen in. I had to make up a harness addapter as i couldnt find anything to match the VX, it has the wrong type
Speed Thrills, Boredom Kills!!
hmmmmm .... all sounds a bit difficult for an old git with too many toyz and no spare time... but thanks for your concern...
So facia off with grills then... any screws or is it prize it orf?
YES! There is a sneaky virtical screw inside the head unit reveal! You'll need a stubby philips screw driver. The rest is clips but it comes out upperpart first. Just go gently as the plastic is a little brittle
Cheers... will bear this in mind as I procrastinate still further..
You need to undo the dash surround as well as its all part of it - all in there are about 13 screws - then one removed the radio is held in place with four silver screws -
you can use a ford escort fillin panel for the UK radio - from Halfrauds - and then 2 of the original radio brackets screwed to the sides of the radio - line it up then tighten them - pikeys can't get it out then as it isn't in with keys but screws
cheers
