MPG has been a real disappointment. Most owners talk about getting 26 easy, up to 29. I get 21 and I am not yet sure why. I have replaced both the fuel filter and fuel pump. I suspect the four years it sat up just did some more damage somewhere that I have not yet found. the gas tank itself may need a serious derusting process. No mods aside from a dark tint and moving the spare to behind the passenger seat, giving me a giant trunk space for my aquarium water.
I believe that Riff owns a x90 in addition to the VX. I too would love one, but am super jealous of the 88.5 sammy!!!!! I would almost consider trading the VX for a well equipped trail sammy.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Nope; I don't own a X-90 just yet, but I would love to own that low mileage one in Post #11. Athough, it would cost me another $1K for the shipping (so I'm gonna' have to pass). If that X-90 (Post #11) was closer to me in the PNW, it would already be sittin' in my garage!!! My "other" 4x4 besides my VX, is an all original 1978 FJ-40 with 70K miles.
I've always loved the X-90's, and have a hankering for a 1998 model (last year of production with special Leather Seats, not cloth fabric like '96 & '97). If a decent condition 1998 X-90 ever comes across my gun sights and within my cross-hairs in the PNW, I'm gonna' buy it.
Until then, I'll continue to use my 1980 Ford Fiesta as my DD that gets 41 MPG (my VX loves being a Garage Queen, and I think she has "a thing" for my FJ-40 parked next to her).
Glad someone loves this little car. I was watching an old season of Top Gear UK (think it was season 2) and it made Richard Hammond's list of 5 worst cars in spot #2. :P
