    The "Jeep Wave"?!?!?!?!?

    holy crapoly.....

I have a motorcycle and am familiar with the motorcycle wave and the rules behind that....(choppers dont wave to sport bikes, etc)

I know us VXers wave to each other due to the extreme rarety of the vehicle.....

    ...but a Jeep wave!!!???!!??!

Witnessed it on my way home for lunch today.

In keeping with this cardinal rule of Jeeping

Since when is Jeep a verb?

Oh yeah, when I ride with my friend it gets annoying. There are so MANY Jeeps.

I make sure to wave all of the Rav4s, Kia suvs and etc when I am with him.

I think the "rules" with bikers are bogus. I ride a custom bike and I'll wave to ANYONE on two wheels; sport bikes, dirt bikes, mopeds, etc. (sometimes even bicyclists). It's one big two wheeled brotherhood so why we got to be hate'n on one another?

As for the "jeep wave"? That's just silly. Like it's some "exclusive" club? You might as well just drive around with your arm out the window in a permanent wave since you'll be passing another jeep every few feet, or so.

Damn, I'd score high on their rules...battle scars, dirt/mud, larger tires, suspension lift, rock sliders with scars, skid plates with scars, tow straps! They will need to bow down to me!

Maybe that's why the page says this:

It's not what you buy, it's what you build and what you do with it.
Because if it's about what you buy, then everybody's special. Which is just another way of saying no one is. (Movie anyone?)

I ride a sport bike also, and wave to other "real" bikes (usually not mopeds, scooters or dirt bikes), and I usually expect/get a response from everyone. Of course my bike it bright Proton...errr yellow...so it tends to get their attention!

back on topic... My ex-wife drives a CJ and I don't recall her waving at anybody (as far as I could tell from crouched down under the dash position. )

The Jeep Wave "silly"??? Please... Back in the day, you'd see a 4x4 on the trail and you'd wave to the driver who was almost always in a Jeep. That is where "The Jeep Wave" came from... people out and about doing the same thing. It had nothing to do really with the vehicle but the situation. After a decade or so though Jeepers became like hotrodders - shared involvment with a movement, hobby, passion, vehicle... Then came the Bronco, International, what-have-you. Then the idiots started jumping on the bandwagon and flooded what was a downhome brand of fun. Now there are douche bags in Jeeps, Toyotas, Isuzus, Fords, Nissans... and many more. They all wave to their similars - no different than any of you in a VX... so all you Matt Lauer's CAN SUCK IT!

In my experience choppers AND sport bikes are the least likely to wave
because they are trying to protect their image

everyone else is out to ride and have a good time so they always seems to wave
