    Help! Intake manifold gasket(s)

    Hi!
I have the 3.2 6vd1 engine. How many intake manifold gaskets are there? 2 or 4? i.e. upper and lower. if 4, which are the ones that usually let go?

    Thanks!

Paul, I haven't had to do mine yet, but the spare gasket set I bought has 3 gaskets in it.
One large lower gasket, and the 2 side gaskets.
It is the side gaskets that are the common point of failure.

Better search here for the revised torque values for the bolts.
The original factory torque was too high, and that is what causes the gaskets to fail.

I would say the 2 lower ones will let go sooner

I got the head gaskets & head bolts from mizumo auto. Since the sets I bought came with the IM gaskets, I'd assume that they sell those too. I had no issues whatsoever in dealing with them.

Use their ebay listings though - their website is less than useless.

Pictured are the cracked lowers i had to replace in mine. Do NOT go higher than 13ft/lbs or you'll be replacing them again! Definitely not a job id want to do again!
