This is a really nice rig. Mostly over there they build 'em for speed and show. A crawler like this is pretty rare.

Those flares look a little familiar, but I don't believe I've seen one snork'd that well before.

Looks like he's got a healthy dose of Marlinstein bumper engineering.

There is a company in Russia doing snorkels for 4X4's including VX's. snorkels for Vx are fiberglass made ones. I did send couple messages to them - no answer do far.

Dmitrikr: Yes I think you may have linked those pics before. Following up, there were more pics of the snorkle and some fitment issues if I recall correctly.

The fitment issues we saw earlier on that snorkel we pretty serious, it wasn't just a windshield alignment issue, the unit tended to pull away from the body, making a largish gap at the bodyside where the snorkel meets the engine bay. That was the main prob if I recall correctly. Fix that, then sign me up!

Well, if I managed to get one and make the necessary adjustments to turn it into a well fitting piece, any ideas on who could mass produce it from my prototype? Anyone have a link to be snorkel?

Found the posts wit the pics from that snorkel. Hm, I may just buy some materials and start prototyping my own. Now, in through the fender of the cladding?

    *sigh*, I am in love!

That snorkel is sweet! And if someone does figure out how to make this work, I am in. I figure, by the time I get back from deployment, perhaps some progress will be made!

Bart, you be nice to taht VX, it isn't some country club garage queen, its a ruff and tumble thug VX from the streets (or rather the rocks).

The fender flares are not my favorite, but they may have street laws like some of our states to prevent the tires from sticking outside the vehicle. IIRC Dub has to abide by that rule?

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Don't get me wrong, it looks cool, but you know me. I think 90% of the needed mods that a 4x4 requires can be done tastefully, and without shoddy chopping and cutting.

The snorkel is actually very well done. Usually they look silly and obnoxious, but that one fits pretty nicely.

But it looks like some large holes were cut in the front cladding for those additional driving lights....yikes.

And the fender flares look like azz.
