    Shackles/Straps/Recovery Setups

I'm getting ready for winter and trying to prep the VX for recovery of other vehicles out of snow banks and just when I go playing with friends on the trails. I have several straps for recovery, but I was just wondering what people use for these setups now. What size shackles do yall use on the front tie down points and the rear one? I'm getting a Curt Hitch on soon, and I know that takes the place of the rear tow point. How do people with the Curt Hitch use recovery straps or tow from the rear of the VX?

Can you post some pics of your current setup or of how you towed or have been towed out before? What works and what does for the VX?

Here's some info you can pick and choose through.
Some of it pertains to "Moab" prep, but you get the idea about shackles, tow straps, etc........

That was pretty helpful. So 5/8 on the front and 3/4 on the rear seems to be the most commonly used. Unfortunately my local tractor/hardware store skips right over the 5/8. It went straight from 1/2 to 3/4. I am slightly irritated at this.

the only thing is.... please dont ever use the cheap tow straps, with the hooks built into the end of the strap. Those break easily and can go right through a windshield.

seen lots of video's of them killing people.
