    When it rains....it pours

So a while back I got reassigned to a different unit which carried the unfortunate side effect of a $10k paycut due to loss of overtime. So I've been debating on selling my 2001 VX to save some money.

The VX was in pretty near perfect condition until....I tagged a deer. Add insult to injury. Cracked the front cladding and broke a marker lens and from the looks of it bent the bumper end just a tad bit back. Just awesome.

Either this is God's way of telling me not to sell the VX or his way of telling me I should have sold it sooner. Who is to know??

Neither. It's God's way of keeping the Deer population in check. Your VX was just the tool that he used at the time.

You're cladding looks like it could be repaired rather than replaced. It's worth a shot before you drop the $$$/time looking for a replacement. Just get it as close to the original shape as possible with a heat gun & then patch the cracks with epoxy. If you don't like the results, you've only lost a little time & very little money.

You can get an aftermarket lens pretty cheap too.

BTW, sorry to hear about your accident. I hit a deer down at Ft Benning years ago. Luckly I was in a rental car.

Good point with the heat gun/epoxy..... not much to loose. Not so worried about the light. They are crappy anyway and I could replace them with something better from AutoZone.

May still have to sell her....

Really looks like repair is worth a shot.

Yes, the repair is worth it either way. The rest is in awesome shape and I just last week turned 44000 miles so it's just good and broken in. I'm considering selling it for monetary reasons, not because of the little mishap. $800 less a month is a hard pill to swallow and sacrifices might have to be made.

If it helps, I've got a stock amber lense I can give you. Not sure if yours were clears or not.
