Just sayin....

Coastie, you know I love ya, but I agree 100% with Mr. Triathlete. The world, well, let me rephrase, HUMANITY ON THIS PLANET has been in turmoil since the first Neanderthal clobbered his friend over the head with a rock for effing his hairly girlfriend.
The only difference today, is that we have access to a world of information that never before in history have we been able to take in. The Kardashians are a JOKE, but you know what, so is EVERYTHING ELSE.
There is a huge part of me, most of me in fact, that thinks that everything is happening EXACTLY the way it is supposed to. Ever see a man on a horse? Its kinda funny, but I think it was meant to be that way. I DO NOT believe in the Bible. I DO NOT believe in the media. I only believe what I see with my own eyes.
I do however agree, that humanity is like an avalanche. We are multiplying faster every year. We WILL run out of resources and solutions and we will take down as much life as possible in the process. It is simply the way things are. I accepted this a long time ago, when I was a kid in fact. The "NF" in my online moniker stands for "No Future". I've used that since I was about 13 years old. So trust me, I understand how you feel. It makes me laugh that there are so many people going through the thoughts that I had when I was a kid. For me now, its just like Billy said, "I will go on enjoying the day".
Funny thing is, my grandpa once told me before he died, "Bart, everything went to hell in the 80s." I just looked at him funny and wondered why he felt that way. I loved the 80s. Greatest decade ever, probably because I grew up then (and the best music came outta the 80s ), but what I am saying is that 100 years ago, people were saying the same thing! Ohhhh the world is going to hell in a handbag!!! The news is no different today, its just proliferated and dispersed at a MUCH more rapid rate.
I've written about the subject of humanity and the "end of the world" in the past quite a bit. It is a subject that has interested me as long as I can remember. Everything has a beginning and an end. Humanity will end, just like the dinos. What I don't understand is why everyone gets all crazy over it. Why not embrace it? I pretty much think it would be awesome to be here at the "end". That would be a pretty amazing thing, albeit horrible, it would be something to experience, don'tcha think?
Maybe I am crazy, but all this talk about Doomsday and the end of the world and the Apocalypse is all old news to me. I've thought about this since I was a kid, and my parents thought I was nuts, and most of my peers thought I was crazy. Now its coffee talk. Now I'm not so crazy, I'm just another doomer. Whatever, I say bring it on. Let me use my AK and all that ammo for something real!
Or everyone should just shut up and live their lives. Cause time is all we got.
Bart
PS - Because I have had a few tonight, and I am in a particularly bad mood for some other reasons, I will gift you all with several lyrics from some of my favorite tracks by some of my favorite artists. Enjoy...
32Crash - Humanity
I see them hail those who skin them
I seem them eat the light they steal
I never prized what they adore
I never needed nor wanted what they fancy
Their fake ideals their narrow science
Their insane fun
I, man of the earth
Inter the future
Deplore the wreck of my planet
I witness the loss
Bewail the fate
Salute the fall of my own kind
Their demons come as friendly angels
Their satans talk like men of peace
They live in jail, say they’re happy
As long as the jail is nice and comfy
Humanity is a disease
Is a disgrace, a bane, a plague
Unkind and violent
Deeply hostile to life
Lame miserable
Vain risible
Vile and corrupted
Utterly useless
Lame miserable
Vain risible
Humanity is a disease
Is a disgrace
A bane
A plague
Scorpion Wind - Paradise of Perfection
All men, inasmuch as they are not liberated from the bondage of time, follow the downward path of history, whether they know it or not and whether they like it or not.
Few, indeed, thoroughly like it, even in our epoch, let
alone in happier ages, when people read less and thought more.
Few follow it unhesitatingly, without throwing at some time or other a sad glance towards the distant lost paradise towards into which they know, in their deeper
consciousness, that they are never to peer; the paradise of perfection in time within so remote that the earliest people of which we know remember it
as only a dream.
Yet they follow their fate away; they obey their destiny.
That resigned submission to the terrible law of decay; that acceptance of the bondage of time by creatures who dimly feel they could be free from it, but who find it too hard to try to free themselves, who know beforehand that they would never succeed, even if they did try, because at the bottom of that incurable unhappiness of man the deplored again and again the Greek tragedies, long before these were written.
Man is unhappy because he knows, because he feels, in general, that the world in which he lives, of which he
is a part, is not what it should be; not what is could be; not what, in fact, it was at the dawn of time, before decay set in.
He cannot wholeheartedly accept the world as his, especially not accept the fact that it is going from bad to worse (be glad).
However much he may try to be a realist, and snatch from destiny whatever he can, when he can, still an
invincible yearning for the better remains at the bottom of his heart; he cannot, in general stomach the world as it is.
In heralding the most widespread massacre, I believe that war is preparing mystical spheres for the apparition of great ideals.
Where the charnel house dissolves, joy will be born in from it; where the weight of mortality sinks down, the soul's freedom will be uplifted.
The greater the offering, the greater will be the wonder and the miracle.
Project Pitchfork - Conjure
I wanna be a creature
before humanity is on earth
no hate no wars no ignorance no force
only one with mother earth
no sorrow escorts us from our birth
be a bridge over the river of love
from justice to happiness
set up by the hands of freedom
yet wishes could be true
don't turn away it could be you
the answer will roar at us
if we listen into ourselves
we twaddle since centuries
about justice and peace
we're living in a material world
supported through avarice
mendacity is our life
we conceal love and light
today we're abusing
animals and nature
to enrich ourselves
we're sleeping so deep
while the bomb is ticking
we pity ourselves
while the fear is kicking
now it's time for the world
to see a man with open eyes
now it's time to realize
we tell ourselves the best of lies
now it's time to see the fact
we all are the unity
now it's time for us
to deliberate our aim
no hate no wars no ignorance
no politics no pain no force
no weapons no oppression no sorrow
no chemicals no dust no leaders
no violence no dust no leaders
now it's time for the world
to see a man with open eyes
now it's time to realize
we tell ourselves the best of lies
now it's time to see the fact
we all are the unity
now it's time for us
to deliberate our aim
now it's time
now !
see that aim
now it's time for the world
to see a man with open eyes
Snog - Human Germ
All the birds and trees and things they are a-losing
Everything, everywhere is vanishing
When I lay me down at last
My body tired, my time passed
We've eroded the soil from the ground
A rocky grave is where I'll be found, cause...
Whatever direction you may turn
You'll see my friend, the earth's been poisoned
By the human germ
Whatever direction you may turn
You'll see my friend, the earth's been poisoned
By the human germ
Look to the sky, look to the moon
Escape for some, but not for you
Doomed to wander a barren rock
If I was naive I'd call it bad luck, but...
Whatever direction you may turn
You'll see my friend, the earth's been poisoned
By the human germ
Whatever direction you may turn
You'll see my friend, the earth's been poisoned
By the human germ
Evolution, well that's passé
However we got to wherever we are today
Whether from space, whether from chimp
All excuses are looking quite limp, 'cause...
Whatever direction you may turn
You'll see my friend, the earth's been poisoned
By the human germ
Whatever direction you may turn
You'll see my friend, the earth's been poisoned
By the human germ
And finally, what I think Billy and I are getting at...one of the greatest songs ever written...imho....
Love and Rockets - No New Tale Tell
You cannot go against nature
Because when you do
Go against nature
It's part of nature too
Our little lives get complicated
It's a simple thing
Simple as a flower
And that's a complicated thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
AHHHH
My world is your world
People like to hear their names
I'm no exception
Please call my name
Call my name
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
AHHHH
When you're down
It's a long way up
When you're up
It's a long way down
It's all the same thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
You cannot go against nature
Because when you do
Go against nature
It's part of nature too
Our little lives get complicated
It's a simple thing
Simple as a flower
And that's a complicated thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
AHHHH
My world is your world
People like to hear their names
I'm no exception
Please call my name
Call my name
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
AHHHH
When you're down
It's a long way up
When you're up
It's a long way down
It's all the same thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell

Very well said sir!
VX KAT
....the adventure BEGINS ANEW! ...2015......
Remember that life is not measured in the breaths you take, but rather in the moments that take your breath away.
I know that you and I have never got to sit and chat about all the awesome music that was (and is) out there. However...
There is NO REASON you should have left out THE THE's song "Armageddon Days (Are Here Again)" off of the 1989 album Mind Bomb. I'm sure it was a simple oversight, as you put forth some fine topic-related tracks. So I'll pick up the slack...
Are you ready for Jesus? Buddha? Mohammed?
Lets go!
They're five miles high, as the crow flies, leaving blood-red vapour trails across the sky.
Moving in from the east, towards the west, balaclava helmets over their heads.
YES!
Well if you think that Jesus Christ is coming, honey you've got another thing coming. If he ever finds out who's hijacked his name, he'll cut out his heart, and turn in his grave.
Islam is rising, the Christians mobilizing.
The world is on it's elbows and knees.
It's forgotten the message, and worships the creeds.
"It's war," she cried, "It's war," she cried, "THIS IS WAR!"
Drop your possessions, all you simple folk.
You'll fight them on the beaches, in your underclothes.
You'll thank the good lord for raising the Union Jack.
You'll watch the ships sail out of harbor, and the bodies come floating back.
You'll watch the ships sail out of harbor, and the bodies come floating back.
If the real Jesus Christ were to stand up today, he'd be gunned down cold by the CIA.
For the lights that now burn brightest behind stained glass will cast the darkest shadows upon the human heart.
Because God didn't build himself that throne, and God doesn't live in Israel or Rome.
God doesn't belong to the Yankee dollar, and God doesn't plant those bombs for Hezbollah.
God doesn't even go to church, and God won't send us down to Allah to burn.
God will remind us what we already know... that the human race is about to reap what it's sown.
Islam is rising, the Christians mobilizing.
The world is on it's elbows and knees.
It's forgotten the message, and worships the creeds.
Armageddon days are here... again
Armageddon days are here... again
Armageddon days are here... again
ARMAGEDDON DAYS ARE HERE... AGAIN!

Ahhh yes, Gill, that is a good one indeed, I could keep going on and on...
I saw them when they opened for Depeche Mode back in the early 90s...
Bart
EDIT: Here's another song, written in the 1980s, and if you read the lyrics, its EXACTLY THE SAME TODAY.
D.I. - Terrorists Life
The violent pursuit of what they hope to be...
a better world
Rejection of society and the desire...
to destroy it.
As we look back, so many attacks.
[Chorus:]
Because back through time, many men have died.
It's all the same; many will be slain.
Long live the rebels, the flashed in the sky.
Iran, Pakistan, many countries lie.
Middle East in turmoil, ironic sick game.
Looks like the world's slowly going insane.
Bombs and arms, the missiles in the sky.
If they're such men of wisdom,
why is there still terrorism?
Pope John Paul was shot in Rome.
Ronal Reagan was shot here at home.
Oktoberfest murders in Munich, Germany.
Sixty hostages in the Turkish embassy.
As we look back, they attack.
[repeat chorus]
I wonder when the world is gonna Glow.
Self destruction, they just don't know.
World destruction is a friend to us all.
Crying won't help no matter how sad.
Leaders on a one way mission;
they're on a mission to the top.
Until armageddon it seems,
until Armageddon, will they stop?
(Gotta love 80s American Punk)
