I can't...

How can any thinking person look at religion and see only the source of what's wrong in the world? All the caring, all the goodwill, all the selfless and charitable giving to change the lives of countless hundreds of millions of lives? All the donations of all the food and all the shelter both here and throughout the world. All the missionaries, all the educators, all the civil engineers giving of themselves to improve others' lot in this life. All the art, all the music, all the architecture, all the BEAUTY that has come from believing that we're not the final word in this existence.

It saddens me that people are so quick to disregard all the silent good for the sake of the bad done in its name.

But this argument borders on sanctioning pure secularism and the dismissal of God as merely a shelter of a feeble (or insane) mind.

Theological extremism is at its worst when it compels followers to convert the non-believers at the cost of either - or both - of their lives. But the majority, albeit a shrinking one, of civilized people recognize this and do not try to sell their beliefs to others at the end of a sword, scimitar, gun, IED, etc. Guilt still works pretty good though.

And that's all I have to say about that.

IMHO worship of false idols is not a good idea...has anybody EVER came close to proving the the existence of god...NEVER...on another topic... I chose this quote because "that horse icon is discusting" beating a horse till blood comes out it's mouth...ps god wouldn't let that happen...would he?

Don't blame God for all that's wrong in this world, blame His children. He gave us the means, what we do with it is up to us...judgement is up to Him.
