    Just had a mini-meet

Had an entertaining dinner tonight at a Hibachi grill with a great guy and his Dragon from Louisiana, way up here in Mountain Home, Arkansas. I haven't seen another VX until today.....nice looking VX, really nice guy. Can't wait until the Memphis meet on the 24th!

I'm still bothered with the question of what was the mystery sea-food that I consumed at Hibachi grill ?

I'm thinking that it may have been "Escolar" .

I just heard about another sushi restaurant that has opened up recently in Lafayette and the Escolar is supposed to be rather tasty! I"ll have to do some investigating. Lafayette now has about 24 sushi restaurants . 500 plus restaurants here and only 24 of them serve sushi...

Actually, escolar is fantastic, it's a light, moist, mild white fish. I learned about it when I lived in LA and went to some of the premium seafood places, like Ocean Ave Seafood in Santa Monica.
IIRC, they told me it was an incidental type catch with some other more desirable fish, and it turned out to be really great on its own. Don't know if any of that is true, but I know it's my fav fish of all time....wish I could find some around here. Yummm

Carnival has started up in Lafayette, Mardi gras will be on the 21st, so I'll probably get out of town on the 16th.

I may go do some more hiking along the Buffalo River, weather permitting of course.
I'm also looking at North east Alabama. Basically I'm looking to go do some hiking , I'm open to suggestions . I'm trying to keep my drive time down to about 10hrs

We have recently moved to Little Rock....not too far from Petit Jean mountain we were telling u about. I'll get those pics emailed to u today. Its much nicer than going all the way to Buffalo river. Cut down ur driving greatly. We need a day-cation anyway....we can always meet u in Hot Springs and drive to Petit Jean with u on the first day....
