    'Beast and Rowhard,

What ballasts did you use for the HID bulb swap in your Hellas?

    Thanks,

(The ones I've purchased are the 80mm 55W H3 Halogen DE Series from Hella.) I plan to disconnect them from the lighting controls on the stalk, and wire them to an Isuzu OEM fog lamp switch to be placed in the fuzzy
hole blank plate I acquired last year. The other two switch location will also sport OEM fog switches - already acquired - to control two banks of auxiliary lighting: a pair of driver beams mounted to the safari bar, and four
on the roof - a pair of spots at the inboard position and a pair of floods at the outboard position.

I love it when a plan comes together. When it begins, I'll be sure to document everything in a fresh thread.

OOPS......sorry bout the giant pics.....I tried a different image hosting service and didn't realize they would be that big....I've figgered it out now....

V- are you talking the MICRO DE series? I couldn't find any other on their website with H3 55W & DE.
Your plan sounds great, can't wait to see it.

Nope, not the ones that I've seen others here using. Again, to me, they look good-ish, but give a very sporty "street" feel to the VX's face. I'm going for a more filled out, less streamlined look.

The lamps I got are the these 80mm babies from Hella:

Hella's part number is H12186011. Or just search for [Hella 80mm fog] and you'll get plenty of info on them. Plus, I'm angling to swap the bulbs a la Rowhard.

As a teaser, here's a list of the complete project:
    • Lift - parts arrived
    • Wheels
    • Tires - arrived
    • New rotors and pads - parts arrived
    • Steel brake lines - parts arrived
    • Tint - this weekend
    • Remote start - this weekend
    • Body work & touch up - DONE
    • De-badge - DONE
    • Tone hitch - DONE
    • Front and rear "skid plates" by Rowhard - DONE (Thanks ROWHARD)
    • Headlamp restore - DONE
    • Safari bar - arrived (and brackets - arrived Thanks TOM4BREN)
    • Nerf bars (and brackets - quit playing with the new hitch already TOM4BREN, LOL)
    • Exhaust - DONE (but needs refining)
    • VX grille emblem from MAXPRIME - arrived
    • HID headlamp upgrade from XenonRider.com - parts arrived
    • Fuzzy blank and switches update - parts arrived (Thanks VX KAT, MARLIN, NEWTHINGS, et al.)
    • ...and all the lighting I've described above

    It's a sickness, isn't it.

Careful Vendetta. You're going to make JAMAS jealous. He has EVERY ONE of the Genuine Tone products I purchased ... except the NERF bars. You'll be the onliest one with them.

& yes, it is a sickness.

    Rowhard, 'Beast,

Any heat issues such as melting or warping the lenses when swapping out the 55W halogen bulbs in your Micro DE's for the 35W (I assume) HID's?

    Thanks!

I replaced my round stock lites with HID lites with 'halo ring' that can change color.as desired. They look pretty cool. Forget the brand name but can look in my files. Scott

    The lights arrived today.

If anyone's thinking of getting these same ones, hold off until I can see if they'll work. Turns out, they're NOT 80mm, but more than 90mm at the base, which is the vital measurement. And the centimeter makes a big difference.
