Recommended Image Hosting site?

I've tried PhotoBucket and ImageShack and both have frequently locked up my browser at random times, have to kill Safari and restart it. ARGH!!!!

I've tried Picasaweb too, but didn't like how slow it was at loading pics.


Any recommendations for a site that doesn't bomb out on Macs?

Found this list, but it doesn't even list "Picasaweb" so I don't think it's very thorough.

No, embarrassed to say I never heard of it....and I'm a major Nikon-head.
Major company with a reputation to maintain, and specifically list a version for Mac....sounds like the right choice!

6 yrs as a Mac owner, I'm used to Safari being wayyyyy in the minority and not that supported.....when I went Apple, I went all the way.....
I had so many problems with malware, spyware and other crapola repeatedly on my PC, despite having all the "recommended" safeguards, that I went this way to drastically reduced my odds of having those problems again. In fact, haven't had any problems to date with that type stuff.
So, the negative about Safari is there are still many apps that don't support it because it's only a 5% market, yet, the positive is that hackers aren't as interested in it for the very same reason.

I do use Firefox when I have to, but prefer Safari. I routinely have 30-40 windows open at the same time, so I'm really using my new quad processor! It does slow down and get a bit hinky when I have too many in history, so I have to clean that out and reboot....and I'm cookin' again.
Did I mention I'm a bit Type A?

Um, I might not have mentioned that...oh that's right, I didn't even call tech support. , um, is dat a problemo?
My hubby routinely harasses me about it.......I can't help that some of us can think in 30 different topics at the same time.....and some can't...




Oh and on the Nikon site, my very FIRST upload I got a pop-up window that said "An internal error has occurred. The dialogue box will close"......
um....crapola...so I clicked OK, it stopped the upload at that point. It missed 2 pics of the 6, so I just re-uploaded them, and it proceeded normally.
However, when I tried to upload 6 pics at once again...got same message. Everything went find when I only uploaded 2-4 pics at a time. But it didn't lock up and/or screw anything else up so that's a real positive for me.

That was next up on my list to try before Billy mentioned the Nikon. I'll still try it. It's been around a while now, and with Yahoo backing it, it may be supported (maybe even for a MAC )

I've been using pbase for a few years now. My only complaint is that it's gotten too expensive based on the number of pix I have uploaded.

Benefits:

1. you can upload loads of pix at once if you zip them

2. it saves all your camera settings if that's important to you

3. in 3 years, I've only seen the site down once

4. viewer comments available but not a distraction

5. to share with others, you can send them a link to the picture, the gallery, or your home page

6. allows viewers to DL your picture in S,M,L or original sizes but you can also disable right clicking if you want.

I saw SmugMug on that one list...might look into that too. Nikon site has a lot of click here , click there, click click....(and yes I'm Type A and I want it to be quicker! )

True dat! I have a separate hard drive just for backup,it backs up at least 4x/day, AND I have all my pics on zip drives as well (all 15,000 of them)....stored in our safe. So I have 3 places, hopefully that would be safe.
