    oem rotors or better?

ok i have my vehicross from new and did my first set of rotors and brakes at 85000 miles and now i have 160000 miles and need rotors and brakes again. Amazing that these brakes lasted this long and i never experienced this befor.

here is my question has anyone bought aftermarket rotors or brakes with resutls like this and if not how long did you get from them?

Aftermarket rotors and so far no complaints. I went aftermarket due to a better price and they were slotted for better heat dispersal. I don't have the miles you do so can't say on that aspect. They were R1 on Ebaymotors.

I have slotted DBA rotors and love them to death. Coupled with EBC green brake pads and steel braided lines, I stop when I wanna stop. They nearly rival the Brembo big brake system I have on my STi, so, no complaints here.

I have r1 concepts slotted rotors and adaptive1 pads w/ ss lines. Very very happy with my stopping ability, brake dust generation (or lack of) and very quiet braking. I do get some pulsing feedback in the pedal at high speeds and gentle braking but its not the rotors. I measured the runout when I first noticed it and was under 0.002" still

Don't know how long they will last, but I can tell you i did complete makeover with R-1 Concepts drilled/slotted rotors, EBC pads, new bearings, races, and seals for around $700 or so if I remember correctly. BEST THING I ever did!
Was gonna do S/S braided lines, but fell short of that. Regardless, the 'bee' stops like a dream! Absolutely LOVE 'em! SOMETIMES, R-1 has sales, too! Scott

The OEM's are great. 146K and still going strong, only one set of pads so far.

146K and only one set of pads. What is secret for them to last so long?

I don't think it's that unreasonable. I was on my original pads at 73K on my first VX when it was totaled. Isuzu OEM stuff is really good.

I think the original braking system was designed for the much heavier Trooper - that's probably why they last so long. I replaced my pads at around 90K if memory serves (didn't really need to but did anyway when I replaced the rotors with R1s and SS lines). The VX still stops super quick...

John that's the exact configuration I was thinking of going with when I do my next brake service (OEM pads, R1 Concepts rotors, SS lines) but I worry that the dust will increase. Have you found it to be the same? Better? Worse? I love that my front wheels rarely accumulate dust.

    www.r1concepts.com

You can buy them on eBay as well but it's just a storefront to the same folks at the website.
