    Wink

pretty much a final update....its been wayyyy too long a journey on this one...lol. My VX has been at a secret, secure & undisclosed location for an unbelievable 5 months for what has evolved into a complete engine rebuild. We have hit every possible snag, bump, pot-hole, etc in the road you could hit and it has put a strain on long-time friendship to boot. Most of the time its just been hard to get work done on her due to everything from out of town funerals to broken furnaces to holiday vacations ect,ect,ect...blah blah blah.....Than, we hit a problem with obtaining another injector electrical plug & wire as isuzu only sells the whole harness and salvage yards don't want to part with that item off of a running engine they hope to sell. Finally got one. Than we hit a big snag with timing of the cams being hard to set as many sources of information on the web differ including those supplied here. My mechanic claims the Isuzu service manual is wrong and found alternate sources of info supplied by other auto tech's that also claim the manual is wrong. He had to pull the cams and timing belt and start from scratch with the new information. We started the engine last night with the timing belt exposed (no fan, no SC crank pulley, no timing covers, no rad shroud, valve covers only in place with couple bolts, etc) for less than a minute just to see that the timing was finally correct. Now everything appears to just need buttoned up. Hoping to get her back in a few days as she also needs inspected.

I even ended up buying a '03 chevy s10 ext cab zr2 pick-up as a work truck as I grew weary riding my motorcycle to work during thunderstorms (no VX) and hate driving my mustang gt to work (high probability of dents & door dings all of which the VX has no problem with due to cladding & rockslider bars...lol)

When I do get her back she is officially semi-retired. The truck i just mentioned buying is now my work vehicle and the mustang is just a sunny weather toy along with my motorcycle. The VX will back up the truck as a work vehicle in the event the truck is incapacitated but mostly it will be my everything else I gotta do-running around errands-eating out-all weather vehicle...lol. My garage has been a weird treat lately with a Ford Mustang on one side and a Chevy truck on the other...swear I can hear bickering when I'm about to enter the garage..lol. I am about to download a pic of my truck just for the heck...later dudes & dudettes.

you will enjoy the S-10 also.... One of my prevois vehicles was a '99 S-10 ZR2 (RIP). The truck died 2 years ago with 260K on the original engine. Oh and I did buy it new with 9 miles on it, still wraped in plastic.
