Wednesday: White Rim
Got a late start due to my mechanical difficulties, but we still had a great time.
The crew: Jays Wrangler Rubi, Gill and CeCe in the VX, and my Trooper
That's the White Rim trail you see down below...
How do you get down there? The Shafer Switchbacks...
95 Trooper with a buncha stuff nobody here cares about...
White Rim, day 1 continued
Hike to an overlook, Gill, Joe, and CeCe

The trail skirts a bunch of side canyons with undercut faces, you are often standing over open air if you stand at the edge
The view from Gooseberry camp
One of many funny (to me anyway) stories from this year:...
Kenny saw some Zombie finger puppets in one of the haberdasheries downtown Moab. He was thoughtful enough to realize that his ol' wheelin' bud (me, in this case) would appreciate them enough to incorporate them into the overall scheme of his VX...
Anyhoo, I stretched them enough to go over the top of my skully windscreen squirters, canted forward ever so slightly, they allowed water to squirt on my windscreen...from their backside...
The next day, as we were picking our way along a trail, there was a guy in a nice Rubi pulled over in a wide spot, waiting for us to pass. As I rolled up to his window, I looked him square in the eye & inquired: "Dude, do you know if a zombies @$$ is watertight?"
Needless to say, he got a mighty strange look on his face, but before he could reply, I hit the squirters, thus answering my own rhetorical question...
We both got a pretty good ...
Also...rolling up on a group of "pulled over" razrs, & inquiring:
"Pardon me...but would you have any Grey Poupon?"...NEVER gets old....

Spent the better part of the aftrnewn removing copious quantities of "the sacred soil"...both in & out.
I never remove all of it, for fear of angering the off-road gods of Moab...
Found all sorts of mis-placed snackage that I thought the squirrels mustv' eaten...
Tomorrow, gonna try to give her an oil change, & mebbe even slather her flanks with the grape jelly + a coat of wax.
Only used 1.5 qts of oil during the whole 3K trip...
Picked up some Lucas syn 20w50 as my "add oil, oil"...Seemed to work OK.
Rarely had a cruising speed over 70, usually 65-68ish...
Best mileage of the whole trip was 13.47...
