One of many funny (to me anyway) stories from this year:...
Kenny saw some Zombie finger puppets in one of the haberdasheries downtown Moab. He was thoughtful enough to realize that his ol' wheelin' bud (me, in this case) would appreciate them enough to incorporate them into the overall scheme of his VX...
Anyhoo, I stretched them enough to go over the top of my skully windscreen squirters, canted forward ever so slightly, they allowed water to squirt on my windscreen...from their backside...
The next day, as we were picking our way along a trail, there was a guy in a nice Rubi pulled over in a wide spot, waiting for us to pass. As I rolled up to his window, I looked him square in the eye & inquired: "Dude, do you know if a zombies @$$ is watertight?"
Needless to say, he got a mighty strange look on his face, but before he could reply, I hit the squirters, thus answering my own rhetorical question...
We both got a pretty good ...
Also...rolling up on a group of "pulled over" razrs, & inquiring:
"Pardon me...but would you have any Grey Poupon?"...NEVER gets old....

Spent the better part of the aftrnewn removing copious quantities of "the sacred soil"...both in & out.
I never remove all of it, for fear of angering the off-road gods of Moab...
Found all sorts of mis-placed snackage that I thought the squirrels mustv' eaten...
Tomorrow, gonna try to give her an oil change, & mebbe even slather her flanks with the grape jelly + a coat of wax.
Only used 1.5 qts of oil during the whole 3K trip...
Picked up some Lucas syn 20w50 as my "add oil, oil"...Seemed to work OK.
Rarely had a cruising speed over 70, usually 65-68ish...
Best mileage of the whole trip was 13.47...

To some of mine...http://s1121.photobucket.com/albums/...x/MOAB%202012/
Not much action, but some beautiful people & scenery...
BOTH of which I miss...A LOT!
I decided I'd post random Moab/non Moab musings for a while this afternoon.../...I know...
Having one of my favorite snacks while uploading pics to the bucket...radishes, with a little salt...
It's a LONG way to the bottom of a canyon, this distance in magnified exponentially, the nearer the edge you are...ESPECIALLY on foot...
My Moab Fam is the greatest...
And I miss Y'all...a LOT...
There are "other" pics, still lurking in my puter...some of yall might wanna be nice to me...verrrrrrry nice..........
Y'never know whats gonna happen on the stoop...
Ya see the damndest things some nights.
Seems like "the wee'r the hour/the weirder it gets", comes into play here.
Dog costumes...sheep..."other"...
Colorado is beautiful...Nebraska is too big
Seeing old friends, & getting to meet the next gen, in Moab, is the shiz...

I am sorry I missed it, but I did have my own adventure around the same time to prevent an impending existential crisis. I rode my motorcycle (2010 Triumph Street Triple R) 2300 miles round trip from Morrison, CO to Santa Barbara, CA, and hung out with an old friend from high school (who now is a rising star in voice acting in LA) for a few days. I haven't been to Moab since my last mountain biking/off-roading (in a lifted Toyota pickup lol) trip there probably 12 years ago. I will do everything in my power to be there in 2013! I need to meet all you awesome folks and take my VX on those perfect trails!
Jo I am sorry the Whore didn't make it, but glad you decided to go anyway. My trip was a real eye opening mood lifter, so I hope the Moab trip was for all of you. A big part of any good journey is making the decision to go.
If any Colorado folks want to tackle a trail this summer, just PM me. I don't usually have a lot going on on the weekends. Let's do it!
