Moab Taxi Cab?
Nice mall crawler (i do like that color on it though). For a quarter of the price you can pick up a far more built/capable used Heep.

That is my favorite color! I think Gil should get you this!

I think I found the only Jeep I might trade the VX for...

my wife is car shopping.....so far it's all about the Grand Cherokee.
I think I must agree with her
I don't own a pick-up; but, this might fit the bill if I needed one. I just wish they would make a shorter wheelbase version with a short-box. The long-box version just ain't doin' it for me and makes it look like a frickin' centipede. Further, the subdued gun-metal blue has to go; give me one painted in Kenworth Truck Bright Lemon Yellow!!!
I do agree with Billy, that the Uni-Mog's are just the thing. I've always been a big fan of the Uni-Mog's. Although, the new Jeep FC would have much better 21st Century creature comforts and gadgets with plenty of push-buttons. Above all, the very best VX replacement vehicle would have been the now decomissioned Hummer HX/H4 (damn recession killed it just before it went into production and I doubt China is ever gonna' build it).
i drove a 2012 wrangler 4 door as a rental with 4k miles (now about 5k) on it for the last week and a half - i would take my vx over it any day - kinda cool to take all the doors off though

I drove an old CJ7 10 years ago, and while Just Empty Every Pocket might not *actually* be what Jeep stands for, it was certainly true in my case. Went through 2 transmissions and an engine rebuild in under 2 years. I had to sell it or go broke. To be fair though, it definitely held it's value--I got more for it than I put into it in the end.
I had a YJ and it was horrible in reliablity, comfort, & power. I was very happy when I sold it and moved on to the VX. The wranglers today are much improved on/off road and the new pentastar engine seems to have fixed there one major flaw.
The Compass is my wife's car and it is indeed a "car" with a 4high transfer case. It's been good on reliability, gas mileage (28 MPG), and drives great in the snow. It's fine but I'm hoping she'll want something a little more exciting for her next car... maybe her own Vehicross?? She was pretty impressed after Moab.
