    a/c compressor

Read a couple of old threads on 2001 a/c compressor. Saw that someone listed 1999 amigo/ rodeo having the same one as a 2001. Anyone have a part number for that? Anyone sure that it is the same as the 2001 compressor?

all previous threads have come to the conclusion that the 99 is different than the 00 and 01 - look at the sticker underneath the hood on the drivers side that will tell you for sure

After the last discussion of this issue, I thought it had been determined that the issue was more complicated than just a different part for the 2001s, but I could have been confused.

In any event the only sure way seems to be to check the sticker.

Daly, your best bet will be to pull the old AC compressor and check the part #. My compressor was a Zexel DKV-14D and I sourced a Rodeo reman unit. I would be surprised if 01 VX AC was really different but that seems to be the word on the forum. If you need the VX for daily driving, you can buy a shorter serpentine belt at napa to bypass the AC until you get the correct parts.
