    re-upholster with leather seats .com

paid 300 for bucket leather seat covers for the trends.got the passenger seat done.
here is a side by side

so leatherseats.com doesnt have a pattern to make the rear seats to match,,so i thought about getting the rear back seat from part out on ebay from cleveland and driving up to get it 6 hr round trip.but it wouldnt match either
then i remembered i painted my steering wheel with sems and it has been on there for over a year so i got some graphite and have at it
    before

    and after

    pretty damn close

I love the crazy look of my bright red interior, but that gray looks VERY nice, too! Kinda classy, IMO. Good job on matching the back seat.

Interesting.... something I immediately noticed while looking at your first photo - the gray leather looks more "relaxed." I've had two local upholsterers mention that Recaros wear especially hard because they stretch the leather "too tight." Hmmmm.

What vehicle did you select to get the right seat pattern?

What did you do with your headrest covers that are monogrammed?

Thanks. I see now that it's the same one that I once had on my door panels.

I've always been of the opinion that with our seats, there is usually NO need to recover them; the leather is super thick, strong and durable (has anyone looked at the leather in most new cars these days? Like tissue paper!). Our seat leather is very reminiscent of my former 1988 Porsche 911. My plan is to use the process below (that I bookmarked many years ago off of the fine "Pelican" website) when the time comes to resurrect my own seats. As a "give back" to this fine Forum, please allow me to share the link with you:

This is one of THE most detailed and photo-informative threads I've seen on any Forum; hope it helps!

300 seems a bit steep for the install it is so easy...no special tools needed at all
