    Number 10 Hill- Colorado Wheeling

Well, for labor day we did a little Colorado camping and wheeling. Jon (VXorado), joined in on saturday to do a little wheeling

We were camping about an hour from Denver, and one of my dirtbike buddies suggested a great trail for us. I know that Jon got a lot better pictures than I did, and more of them
Just wanted to give you all a few teasers, of both the rigs as well as the completed version of Jons new headlights which looked absolutely AWESOME on his VX, for anyone thinking about modding these headlights.
As usual, pictures dont do it justice, but this trail had one hill that seemed very easy to go down, but going back up was far more difficult. It took me about 45 minutes to get back up a 1/4 mile hill, scattered with boulders and loose dirt, and of course it was raining on and off all day, so it was wet as well.

Well, to say the least, im very jealous of Jons tires and his VX. I struggled A LOT to get up this hill, with my locker on the whole way, and he walked right up it without a strap or slipping a tire. Props to all he's done to his VX.
    Enjoy-

Thanks for the invite Jack, I had a blast conquering the hill.

Going down was easy, going up was the challenge. I didn't get many pics going up because I was busy spotting Jack through the rocks. His tires were caked with mud the entire way up but the 4runner succeeded.

Hey guys.... which trail were you on? The pics of the rock field look familiar. Reminds me of a trail I have done south of I70 before Georgetown.

Pics look great...... Some of us worked all Day.

I look forward to reading your rightup on the headlight mod, looks great.

Let us know if you ever want to get out on the trails.

I'll snap some more pics of the headlights soon but I still have a little tweaking. If you're interested in the write-up... Littlebeast did a write-up for the projector install already and it's in the how-to section.

Definitly keep me informed.... I would like to meet up with others some time.... I have done some of the moderate trails in CO. Several 4x4's ago, my Isuzu Amigo and I did about 20 trails over about 2 to 3 years. Our VX is almost trail ready again, summer projects.

And then we wont mention my 'bad driver mistake'

The road we were on was washed out on the right, and I had the pups with me, so I decided to straddle the wash out rather than get the car tippy and toss the dogs around, and of course mis judged the width of my runner. Next thing I know the front end is going down, but the trail is still going up...uh oh, slid off the edge. I was lucky enough to have a grouping of trees on the right, hit the brakes and stopped before whitneys door plowed the pines. Jon came to the rescue with his awesome VX and MTRS. Pulled the yota back to safety. Didnt know it at the time, but I was definately resting against a tree with the right rear 1/4 panel, as my bumper has a pretty nasty tree rash, but the car is untouched :-D

Thank god for extra wide rear bumpers haha

......OH right ..... *cough*..... back to your main post ..... OFF-ROADING!!!! man i wish i lived close. those trails look sweet.
Make it yours, but make it classy........ unless theres zombies.........thats when the gun rack goes in.

Jealous. I was supposed to start collecting stuff for my rear bumper build, but instead spent the weekend inside dealing with a cold.
