Battery Light, ABS Light, No Power

As I was pulling out of the parking garage today after work. All of a sudden, the battery light and ABS light come on. Also, it is acting like it is in Winter mode when I take off (taking off in 4th).
So I figure wtf, I can deal with this, I'll force it to go into the right gear. I put it in 1st, everything seemed normal. But 2nd and 3rd didn't work. It went to 4th again. Also, about half way home, the battery light and ABS light went off, but power did not come back. Still feels like I'm driving a Ford Explorer.

Anyway, I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow, and I wondered if anyone had had this problem before so I could point them in the right direction.

    Thanks

I've got my .02c on battery. I've heard that the 2001 VX's sat on a dock in Japan for a few months then came to San Fran and sat a few more. Battery discharging the whole time

Problem was gone this morning. Guess my new VX auto repair system fixed the problem.

It's Gremlin's I tell ya', Gremlin's!!! Before you go to bed tonight, disconnect both battery terminals and let the VX sit overnight without a battery source. Then re-connect the battery in the morning to do a "re-set".

You do realize that you're replying to a "ghost" thread from 2002...right?...
