Check this out and I think you'll get a better idea about what is going on at Nissan:

I agree the Extrem is really in the spirit of the VX.... it's that Satomi guy again who designed the VX. Notice they talk about both two and four door models being avialable in the future.
Sad thing is, it'll probably look nothing like this if built.
I think it looks good!

I was really excited for the toyota FR-S/Subaru BR-Z when I saw the concepts... at production, they look like crap.
I personally love the FR-S. If i had a better job I'd own one now. Just needs an STI kit

Compared to how aggressive it looked as a concept, I was really disappointed. Don't get me wrong, though. I don't think it's horrible. Just a let down.
Man I hope they make this. My girlfriend and I love the vx but our lives require a sedan, especially with plans to settle down in the future and start a family. That car would be awesome here in Colorado and meet our active utility needs much like the vx does.
Apparently Subaru is planning on a STi version of the BRZ, that is "supposed" to be retail tested in Russia. All rumor for now, but Russia seems like an odd choice. We will see.

Ive seen both sides on this. Ive heard people say that they will make an sti version, but according to car and driver, Subaru stated that they don't have enough room under the hood for a turbo. I would love it if they did, and it would 'tie' it in with the rest of their line up, because, as it stands the brz has nothing in common with Subaru but the emblem.
I definately like it now that I've seen one in person but i don't like that they used a different engine than the rest of the subies, bad choice. Why change something if it aint broke?
Well, they dont have enough room for excuses since a LOT of BRZs and FRSs were in the SEMA auto show sporting turbocharged systems. A local shop here was commissioned by someone to build a turbo FRS that won some prize or some sort there. I saw some pics and really, it just looked like a world of bolt-ons.
I personally am not into the roadster style and seeing them in person, I am more and more turned off by them. But, thats me, and I definitely see a lot more types of cars on the road that I dont care for over the 2 that I drive. Says something about my unique taste I guess.
Whats your second to the VX wormgod?
I guess driving a boring 4Runner with absolutely zero cahones has me lusting for something more 'sporty' in the future as a daily driver.
