Question is this vx worth it?

hey guys, came across a wrecked vx that has been t-boned. they are asking $2200 for it, but im sure it can be had for less. provided the motor & tranny are good, is it worth getting as a parts car? just want to have it handy for when i get a vx or if someone here really needed a part.

There have been many questions as to the value of a wrecked Vx. I have heard of a salvage yard paying up to 2000 for a wreck. That seemed high to me, I usually pay around a 1000 for a parts car. I recently purchased a 2nd vx (restore project), I will have over 2k into the project before I ever turn the wrench.

i can see $1500 worth of reusable exterior parts just from the picture (windows, cladding, drivers door, rear door, wheels, headlights, hood/insert, grille, other lights, body panels, mirrors...) if the seats are good there's $400 fairly easy

That is some pretty heavy damage! If you do not own a body shop this will cost too much to repair. This might be worth it, IF this was very low mileage, prestine car!

    thx for the imput guys...

the plan is not to repair it, but to have it as a spare parts car. i think having a back up motor & tranny is worth a lot to me. anyone know approx what they would be worth? the only vx i saw in person was local guy who said his x blew the tranny & diff and that was gonna cost him $3000-3500k.

I think 1,000-1,500 is a fair price for a parts car.

If their asking $2200 that tells me they would like $2000. I think as a parts car it would be worth it, but offer them $1500, maybe they will meet you somewhere in between.
