How do you keep your rear seats flipped forward?

When your rear seats are tilted forward and tucked up behind the front seats, how do you get them to stay vertical? Is there a latch or something I'm not catching?

They're falling back down on every acceleration which is annoying the heck out of the dog I'm trying to transport lol

    Thanks!

Mine has a strap with a flat hook on the end that grabs a mating hook on the floor. It has a slide buckle to cinch it down tight. I know it's missing on many rear seats because the topic has come up before.

I'll have to look in the parts catalog to see if there is a part number that you can use to get one from Merlin.

There should be a strap on the back of the seat, the strap has a snap in the middle and a hook on the end. The should also be a small loop bracket on the back seat floor behind the seats.

Parts could be missing on your ride.

Yes, I beleive so. The hook and snap are right. I guess I forgot that Isuzu upgraded these straps (from the amigo series) by adding the adjustable feature. I removed our seat along time ago. Made a nice wood stand for one of our seats.
    pic will be added

Thanks all! I'll dig around at lunch.

I knew it didn't seem right that they just flopped around when put in the vertical position, but there was nothing obvious that 'clicked'.

As for removing the seats completely, I would if the canine situation was permanent but I'm just dog-sitting.

You are all wonderful and deserve internet points for your help!

You could use the dog leash to do the same thing that the OEM strap does. There are metal pegs where the 2 seat backs meet at the bench. Run the leash handle through the catch under the carpet (there's a velcro opening) & hook the handle on those pegs. Knot the hook end of the leash down at the floor to keep it tight.

All the pieces were right there, I just missed the secret compartment on the floor to which it hooks.

Yay the dog is safe from being squished when I accelerate, thank you!

I took out my rear seat so I wouldn't get that rubbing sound. It had the leash to keep it in place but I like the extra few inches no seat gives me.

Try laying a blanket on the back seat before you fold down the back rests.
