    New Look

The transformation is complete! Well for now at least. I bought this once loved but neglected VX about five months ago. She had been sitting out in the snow and sun and the paint and cladding had weathered poorly.

I pulled off all the cladding, emblems, and roof rack/rails and got her resprayed. I initially decided on Ford Grabber Blue but after much obsessing and indecision I choose Toyota Voodoo Blue instead. It's a bit deeper and brighter. I was also going to go with black Showroom New on the cladding but after seeing the thread from SSignature about the Line-X I went that route instead. I am very pleased with the results. The Line-X dealer did what is called enveloping so that adherence wouldn't be a problem. It is just what it sounds like with the entire surface inside and out is sprayed. The inside part has no texture added but the outside does. I did not get any UV additive or premium as they called it. That would have added shine and cost. He is the unveiling.

    Thanks everyone!
Unfortunately it has the black and red interior that clashes now. Anyone want to trade black and gray for my black and red? LOL! No one would do that! I may paint or plasi-dip my door cards, dye my seats, and replace the wheel but I'm in no hurry to do this. Jon, are you still red inside?
    Cheers,
    Scott

I still have red/blk seats and yeah... I hate them. I have black painted doors and a black steering wheel from a Rodeo. I was going to dye the seats but decided i'll get a set of wet okole seat covers in all black. I had a set of covers before in red/blk and really liked the extra cushioning.

Very nice! Would be interested to know how much you had the Line-X done for. I'd do the trade for interiors, but mine is Black/Red too. After poking around, I'm guessing its the dealer off Curtis St

Yes, the place off Curtis St. I payed $680 for the enveloped treatment. This does make it a PITA when reinstalling at times but the fitment was not effected significantly.

...and was wondering if you bothered using new double side sticky tape...

    ...or not?

Its seems redundant to me...and maybe just used originally for ease of assembly.

    Thanks

Yeah, I did use 3M tape helps keep things from bowing in places. Probably not necessary but I had some on hand. It is definitely useful for the half moon. I think it helps on the door panels too.
