Isuzu Amigo - painted cladding? And step bar questions

I was researching step bars pictures for the VX and I ran into this Amigo picture that I haven't seen before..For some reason it reminded of a Vehicross "cladding look" attemp?

    Now the question:

I read in another post that Jeep Wrangler's (2 door) step bars may fit the VX with some bracket modification or welding. Will this fit? It seems that the lenght of the bar cannot exceed 4.5' to 5' for the VX?

The brackets that I can get will work for NERF bars from 51-53".

Here's a lot of discussion on the topic:

Keep in mind, the Amigo pictured above has rock sliders with steps built into them. Rock sliders come in a multitude of styles, are stronger & provide body protection. IMO, even if you don't 4 wheel, rock sliders are the way to go because they're stronger and more unique. Of course, nerf bars are cheaper, lighter, and usually work better as an actual step. I'm not sure if the Amigo pic was an example for the step bar or just the paint job.

I have rock sliders from a wrangler TJ and the length is perfect.

    yah, what 'rado said.

The NERF bar brackets use the existing body mount bolts so they flex when you step on them. That bothers some people.

Sliders are functional so should be rock solid (pun intended) when you step on them.

The Amigo picture was just about the paint job. It reminded of a VX "prototype". Similar lines.

How did you install the sliders? What brackets (or welded)? I like the step bars from Ebay for the functionality and looks only. But I don't know exact dimensions. I asked the Seller just in case. I want to make sure they fit and that they are not too long.

The NERF bar brackets use the existing body mount bolts so they flex when you step on them.
You are referring to the brackets that you fabricated? I don't think those will work for the above application. My plan is to get the nerf bars and then figure how to mount them (may need a welder?)

That Amigo would of looked so much better is the owner who painted it, would of followed the fenders lines and to the center groove of the door. That would of not just looked much better but also looked more VX. Nice though.

The brackets that I'm talking about are a modified copy of what Tone used to sell. They will work for any NERF bar that is 51-53" and have a 90 degree bend at each end (come in perpendicular to the frame). If you have access to someone that can weld, then you don't need the brackets. They are just a bolt on option for shade tree mechanics.
