By basic, I meant linex offers 3 variations in the civilian world, lineX, lineX extra, which is lineX with color and UV protectant, and they offer a kevlar fortified topcoat. All linex is badass, the difference basically being to add color and/or UV topcoat which makes it shiny.

I humbly apologize if the basic part sounded demeaning or anything.

Your truck truly looks badass and mean and has the equipment to back it up. No mall crawler you got there.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

    Fear not Marlin !

I wasn't offended by "basic" in the least.......

Just didn't want others to compare the price you quoted for mine incorrectly...
...if they are thinking of doing the same.

Did u put all the clips back on the cladding? I found that the oem screw mounts were more than enough, and for some reason I have like 10 of the cladding screws left over. I replaced the rear cladding screws with hex heads, but that is only 5. I also went without the bottom mounts since I removed the rear bumper tubing.only problem I had was teh half moon, the plastic posts that the c clips go on broke off.

I also have to go in for a touch up in one spot. The rear cladding on the drivers side tore through when it rubbed the tail light. Have shave a bit off the light fiixture.

    Hiya Marlin

I ended up with a Zip lock full of spare torx/bolts/clips etc

Partly because of the cut down front cladding,...
....partly cause I used #12 sheet metal screws in hidden spots.

Partly because...aint that how it always goes!!

I have several areas of Line-X on the cladding that are peeling off...
...adhesion is an issue for sure.
Scott ( Bartman) has the same problems and his is fully encapsulated...

However we ..Jason ( Line-X San Diego) and Moi..are experimenting...
...when we find the solution...I'll let you know.

I wonder if the top coat will make a difference? Since it is a lot like paint, it may help keep the LineX "tight" for a lack of better words? I walked around mine, I don't see any peeling parts, but its only been a week and no freeway driving. A TON of rain though.
What did you end up doing with your grill insert?

Grill insert is Line-X'ed...heck, everything is Line-X'ed except the windows and lights

The encapsulation will help until you get a tear in it as Scott/Bartman did.

The Line-X will peel back around the tear....
....mine is peeling back from feathered edge of Line-X in a few places.

I am going to play with different barrier primers on some scrap cladding I have....
    ..... especially Rustoleum Plastic primer.

I hope Jason/L-X San Diego will hassle Line-X HQ to look at this issue too....THEY need a solution..
...as it will expand their spraying capabilities.

I had never thought of all the uses of linex, but while I was there, a guy brought in a plywood tank, linex inside, use it has a livewell for stocking fish in ponds. He had tried Gel coat for boats, fiberglass, still leaked. LineX fixed it right up.
(I hate posting from my phone, stupid fat fingers)
As for tearing on plastic, the owner told me that you can use a plastic specific epoxy, he showed me some stuff they had, it was an industrial kind of stuff, two part, kind of melts the plastic, and bonds to the LineX really well. I need to find out where to get it, I will let you know. May be an option pending what you come up with, or maybe better for patching tears?

    ...do let me know.

Spray application of a barrier coat of epoxy is one of the option we are looking at..so any info would be great.

I'm hoping the Rustoleum Plastic Primer works...its so easy to apply.

Wont know for a month or so...too much other stuff happening right now...
....and the ORW had all the time I can spare on her for now, prior to Moab!

Now I remember what the ORW reminds me of, only much cooler and better.

    From the movie Repo Men
