    Hood Drain Tubes Installation

I DynoMatted (dynomat extreme) the engine hood followed by 1/8" DynaLiner. All the holes are cut out etc and everything is perfect except for one thing...

I forgot to make a note of where the Drain Tubes go (drain water from hood insert area)...

Does anyone have a pic or that can take a pic of where the tubes go? I have the tubes connected but did NOT cut out the holes for where the tubes are inserted. It would require the removal of the Hood Insulator (if installed)...

    ---------

Its hard to tell with this pic, but if you look at the bottom corners you can see the little indent below the hood insert bolts there is an oval shaped hole:

Left side: Below corner insert bolt to the left, you can see a speck of white(wax), that is where the hole is.

Hope this kinda helps... I don't have a picture of the stock hood... Here are a few more pictures with different angles.

UPDATE: or did you mean the bottom side of the hood where the tubes are "tucked" in?

Yes, the underside is what I need pics of. Would you happen to have any?

no I don't, I don't even have them installed on the carbon fiber hood.

I'll check my computer when I get home, I know I took pictures of the underside of the OEM hood for reference purposes when I installed the carbon fiber hood.

    Ty,

My old hood is sitting in my trailer at home waiting for a run to re-cycling place. I'll try to snap a few pics tonight.

    after ~5000 photos...

    I found it!!!

The reason my tubes are hanging, the white bits that attach to the hood drain dry rotted in the Vegas heat...

You will also notice the "tiny" drain hole on the frame just below the left tube where it enters.

I'll take a pic tomorrow in daylight and post... maybe someone can describe the location of where for me to cut out the dynomat...

    THANK YOU KNIGH

I know I'll figure it out... eventually....

Here is what I'm looking at. You should be able to see the new stainless bolts holding in the hood insert, as i cut holes out of the DynaLiner for those areas.

From this pic, can anyone tell me where the OTHER END of the drain tube goes? I know it goes into one of the grooves in the hood and then drains out along a pathway, but where does it insert?

When you are looking at the whole hood, there are basically 3 LARGE indentions in the hood. My finger is pointing to the left side of the BUMP that's in this area (for reference). From this point, in which direction do I go?

I don't want to start making to many blind cuts in the DynaLiner and Dynamat.

Try that one, that should help a bit more. Don't forget, you will have to find that small hole on the frame and cut that open or you will get water pooling in the frame.
