    Cylinder 4 misfire

First time poster. My 99 Vehicross (new motor) is throwing a cyl 4 misfire code and shaking like a muscle car. Were to begin?

    Lightbulb

I had a similar issue on my previous VX. Found that the wiring harness that feeds the coils had issues when I moved it around while the engine was running. It went away when I pushed down on it... so I zip tied it to the rest of the nearby harness. Problem "remedied". Worked fine until I sold it about 3 yrs later.

    I've tried switching #4 and 6 coils=same code
Then I swapped #4 and 6 spark plugs and got the same thing

I'm guessing this test cleared my spark plugs as being the issue. Injectors next?

Joe, don't know anything about your skills, but just check that you are counting your cylinder numbers correctly. There is a Service Manual on here that shows the layout.

Other than that, yep I would go fuel injector, and then compression test.

    Good luck.

When I had a "misfire" code ot was solved by cleaning the fuel rail.
