screw is halfway into HVAC freon hose

Brought the VX to a new shop (long story) to get AC fixed- not blowing cold at all. Got it back ($300 later) and it was pretty cold but nothing too impressive. Drove about 2 miles home, parked it, then noticed freon leak the next day. Found a screw is literally halfway through the metal hose that carries freon along the drivers side of the engine. Has anyone ever dealt with this? I can't imagine how this happened but freon is spewing from the hole and I will need a new hose. Anyone have any thoughts, ideas, advice (besides never go back to that shop)

btw the pic is upside down. but you can kinda see the gap between the screw and its new home in the hose.

I can't believe that the shop charged the system (& returned it to you) without checking for leaks. You should get your money back from the shop. They may not have caused the leak ... but they shouldn't have charged the system until it was fixed.

Call Merlin about a replacement hose.

Since you said that the photo was upside down, does that mean you were underneath the VX looking upwards when you took the photo? I popped the hood and looked for that line on mine just now to see if my line was similarly positioned near that bolt, but didn't see anything that looked similar to your photo from above.

Just took a picture of mine. As you can see, it is nowhere near as close as yours is. It must have been bent back or tucked in to tightly.

Thank you Knigh7s...looks like my plastic clip broke off at some point. I called St Charles Automotive today and he said that line is on "back-order" and may take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months before he can get one. He said his system didn't show any in the US at all. Still trying to call other parts places. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
    Thanks in advance
