You guys will be sorely missed. but your trip sounds great. We can always face time (or Skype) with you during the Ice Cream Social so it'll be just like you're there (sort of).

Great talking to you as well Jo, and thanks again.
Just to be a little quicker than The Dubster., here goes...
You two should be good at that by now.
I kinda figured she would normally do the tying down.
That's par for the course no matter where they go on vacation.
Did I miss any, Dude?
Lol, nice preemptive strike Gill.
95 Trooper with a buncha stuff nobody here cares about...
I was just looking through Sue's photo album and came across this one of Jon. Can you tell me what trail/obstacle this is? Looks pretty hairy!
There's no 'I' in denial.

....the adventure BEGINS ANEW! ...2015......
Remember that life is not measured in the breaths you take, but rather in the moments that take your breath away.
Yeah Scotty, Billy & Sue are right. Poison Spider coming back down from the top loop.
Looks scarier than I remember!!!

If you haven't already heard, there is a rate hike in the works at the Red Rock Lodge. I got a phone call today with the news. I think it was ~20 a day more. They did say the rooms are remodeled so I guess you get what you pay for.
The website hasn't been updated with the new rates yet but should be soon.
Speaking of which... I need to go ahead and book something. So with this being my first time I have no idea what Red Rock Lodge is all about and "Stoop Parties"...what's that exactly? lol... Is this where everyone or most everyone stays? All I know is that I wanna meet everyone, and be surrounded by Isuzu and VX nuts like myself
From a few other posts it almost seems like it might not be very pleasant to stay at? What's the deal? Should I book here or is there another or better place nearby? Just trying to get something booked so it's locked in. I definitely am not going to miss out this years Moab

Hey Ty
Red Rock is an old "Motel" style place...you park outside your room door for the most part.
Many do stay there..some camp.
They are REALLY cool, they lets us wrench on the vehicles, make a mess..
...and generally take over.
The actual "Stoop" is the porch along the front of the "old side" of the building..
..rooms 101 - 112 I think.
It becomes the social center pretty much.
People meet here in the morn to divide up into trail groups...
...and after wheeling its crowded with people cocktailing ( or not)..
...and wrenching on problems!
New side is Motel6 standard.. old side "was" Motel 2.5 standard!..
...but I guess thats all better now!
Its a good base...lots of fun..and you'll meet everyone!

Here's The Stoop ("old side")in front of Dub and Jo's rooms (far end of the hotel from the street.
Jo, wrenching at The Stoop with the "new" side in the background
Red Rocks Lodge from down the street. "Old side on the right, "new" side on the left.
Festivities at the far end of The Stoop
YEP, that happens too.
It's not five star by any means, but it sure is a lot of fun.
I Love It !

I stayed at the Hampton Inn last year and this year I'm dividing my stay between the Holiday Inn and the Hampton. I did this because I can get free or highly discounted rooms from my travel club points. I would still go hang at the stoop but retire to more plush accommodations to sleep. Good times to be had at the stoop but I don't need to stay there.
I also explored the renting of a condo for the week. This would be a great option for a group of folks but after gauging interest there just was enough people that could commit at the time.

Nice Mark.. those sure set the 'scene'...
...albeit several years ago!!
I have even less hair, bigger scalp NOW...
..and the ORW sure has changed!
Looking fwd to this year!!

And own an Isuzu...of any vint or model...
You will enjoy time on tha stoop...no REALLY !!!
If you think that there is a better group of people to spend time with...I'll call you a liar to your face...there can be only ONE group as tight as the Isuzu Fam in Moab.
Have probs on tha trail?...The fam will RUSH to your assistance.(we're talk'n parts, fluids, wrenching skills, jacks...WHATEVER)
Have trouble on an obstacle?...the straps come out, we all have one...or two.
We've never left a vehicle that was broke behind that I'm aware of, we operate as an entity...all for one, one for all.
Come up a few dollar$ $hort ? (or MORE, in my case) tha hat gets passed, the problem is solved.
Need a quart of oil?...there's practically a fight to see who gets the privilige of donating.
The Stoop?...never been a fist fight, or anything more worse than mild verbal abuse that I'm aware of....There can be a LOT of poking fun at each other, but that's just...well...NORMAL... At least in the circles I've lived in most of my life. If ya can't take it, as well as ya dish it...well then..
Come & have some dam FUN!
As Mark (MSHardeman) said, during one of my earliest stoop memories...."it's like we're in HIGH SCHOOL again"...
Some of the best friends I have in my life?....met em' in Moab....
While we may be far apart in miles, we remain close in heart. I talk to a lot of these friends on a weekly/monthly/or evvy few months basis.
