Navigation system Install: VSS wire

I'm contemplating the purchase of a navigation system such as the Kenwood KNA-DV3100 system.

Can anyone tell me where the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) wire is? I'm thinking it must be part of the cruie control, right?

Also, whats the pulse setting.

It's in the ECM behind the cover in front of the shifter.
