Looking for a Repair shop in Los Angeles

Anyone know of a good repair shop in Los Angeles?
I live near Culver City, so would like to find someplace somewhat local. I searched online, and this was the best I could find, which is not exactly close by

Contact long time owner and moderator "Anita" as she has a terrific mechanic she has used for years. I believe he's in the San Gabriel area, but he's VERY familiar with the VX and that's worth a little drive.

I live in LA. I would avoid Martin Auto Group.

They were once an authorized Isuzu dealer, but I called them looking for service and they were not at all interested in servicing the VX and were very rude when I spoke with them. Sadly their Isuzu days are long gone. The only dealership I have found whose service dept. was still knowledgable with the VX in the LA area is Vista Ford/Lincoln on Ventura in Woodland Hills.

I have had some transmission and A/C work done at Westside Transmission at 2050 Cotner, and they were very professional and the work was done right. Had leaking gasket after trans service which I brought it back for, and they replaced it immediately at no charge with no questions asked and were very apologetic. I have also had a good experience with West Coast Tire, who I have been going to for anything tire or suspension related for the last 3 years. They have always done good work for me at a reasonable cost. Both shops can handle much more than tire and suspension, though I have sometimes have had to help call around for parts when they were hard to find.

Good luck, and PM me if want more detailed info on either shop.

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I've had my VehiCROSS serviced at Island Pacific in Hermosa Beach. I'm about to have them tackle my timing belt and water pump. They're primarily a Jeep independent repair place, but the owner Bob is a down-to-earth guy whom I've known for nearly 15 years.

My son has left his 2000 Green Vehicross with me for repairs. I have been unable to reach Mike at Sierra Isuzu. Do you know a So Cal Mechanic? The issues are a slipping transmission, engine running poorly, alignment and passenger window not working. On the tranny I have read to first check the shift solenoids and on the window replace the clips with SBC's clips.

I would appreciate any referrals you have make.

The SBC brackets can be purchased from Tim at: streetboutiquecustoms.com

There's numerous VXers in SoCal, so I'm sure they'll have some recommendations. I'd suggest going to the Vehicross FaceBook group and ask. It's much more trafficked than the forum is nowadays.

The mechanic I suggested in post #3 is no longer in LA...in fact he's now in Central Arizona, but I think he's retired.
