    My brakes are OEM standard with working ABS.
    On dry sealed roads I can make the tyres chirp and the ABS work from above 60 MPH.
    On gravel roads the tyres alternate skid / rotate / skid as the ABS works harder.

    My pedal goes nearly to the floor to achieve this, and I don't like it. I would like to see the brakes come on with less pedal travel. Putting larger, or 2 spot, calipers on will only increase pedal travel unless you also update the master cylinder.

    I find my stock brakes very mediocre...

    But this thread is more auto HOW to upgrade the brakes, rather than WHY

    I can get my wheels locked up with the EBC greenstuff pads and R1 rotors just fine. Granted I am on 35" soft compound MT/R Kevlars, which aren't exactly made for good pavement stopping power.
    Same setup I have, ABS disabled, no way I am locking up anything, even with the pedal pressed as hard as I can. I will be replacing the the master cylinder next, not much left after that.
