I too might be interested in that, as I am getting ready to buy some EBC yellows for the front and greens for the rear. But might be better to save lots more pennies for something like that to end my brake woes.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

I'm intrigued with these "Brake woes" people speak of...

I'm guessing that my VX carries more poundage around than most...

...if not all others, given tires/rock bumper/and lots of HD stuff underneath.

And I dont have an issue with the OEM brakes at all..

I for one have been scared a couple of times by the increased stopping distance since going to larger wheels and tires. I could use some extra stopping power. I upgraded to stainless braided brake lines and it helped a little, but stopping on the highway from anything over 50 takes too long in my opinion.

    Hi, all
My kit was developed by another Russian enthusiast, so I'm just reposting here, to my knowledge, only 2 sets have been assembled, and were like $4k per set.
And they do brake like hell.. I just try not to break too hard to avoid rear damage
We could re-order them here in Russia, but it will just be easier for you to assemble the set in the US... if you are crazy enough

Those are very good brakes! $4k is actually on a cheap side for such setup. Whoever puts together such "kit"¯, often charges extra for the engineering cost, so you end up paying a premium.

What I want to find to find is an OEM solution. I would love to find 14ā€¯ OEM rotors that come close to VX rotor configuration. Then, you can adapt one of numerous 4 pot calipers on the market (EVO, STI, Caddy, Viper to name just a few). Such could be had for around ~$600 for the front or the rearā€¦

So... dealing with some DSM guys, I ran into a person who was familiar with Audi/VW word. Apparently, those guys often use 17Z and 18Z Brembo Calipers (came on Cayenne and other German SUVs), which can be purchased relatively cheap ($400-$600/pair). So that got me thinking…

Those would be AWESOME calipers for the VX! I am going to do some more research on those.

This is what VW/Audi guys do withese calipers:

How-za-bout adding another caliper bracket + stock caliper...and using custom made "Y" lines to feed two stock calipers per corner?

    It's just so crazt that...

Isn't braking ability ultimately limited by tire grip though? If you have enough grab to lock up the tires, you have maxed out your braking ability and then tires become your limiting factor in stopping. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I am very interested in this.

I can get my wheels locked up with the EBC greenstuff pads and R1 rotors just fine. Granted I am on 35" soft compound MT/R Kevlars, which aren't exactly made for good pavement stopping power.

Had OEM brakes on when I purchased it and had the brakes done about 3 months ago.

I have NEVER been able to lock up the brakes on my VX.

Would this be normal for this set up with OEMs?

If your abs is functioning your bakes theoretically should not lock up. That being said, by abs is not working, I can lock up my oem set up.
