    Plasti Dip

Has anyone used black Plasti Dip on the cladding? with any success? seems to spray on and peel off, may cover some of the light scuffs i have on the cladding too.

a friend did his rims a grill on his jeep. you have to use multiple coats to get good results. if you only used one its a pain to remove.

I put MANY coats on the rims I did and it turned out great, but I don't know if I would feel comfortable with it on cladding.

I tried plastidip on a section of cladding... looked great for about a day before it started peeling at the wear areas (doors, rocker panel).

I'd give it two thumbs down as a cladding treatment.

I did PlastiDip my hood insert more than a year ago and aside from a scratch left by a certain calendar model's high heel it's held up very well. When I get my LineXed cladding touched up I'll probably redo the insert with LineX at that time. Most stuff doesn't stick well to the ABS whatever you end up spraying it with I'd recommend an adhesion promoter first.
    There's no 'I' in denial.

    Plasti dip

I did my 1999 VX from the cladding up. I think it turned real good and its easy to touch up if needed. The problem with doing the cladding it making it stick,so you would have to ruff up the plastic. But by doing this I think then there is no turning back. I,d say do the whole rear end and see if you like it.

Lets see! Just about every piece of plastic I have ever heated up to change its shape looked great right until it cooled......and then usually cracked open under some small stressor. Heat may change the appeareance of our panels, but I would much rather do a small touch-up dab after a small parking incident versus a complete structural failure and then you'll be looking for a complete piece of cladding!! I've used the Dye/paint works for me and is super lo maintenance!!

Ok, so i have now got a pal who will plastidip my truck at cost. im thinking the cladding looks OK now i have treated it and the paint is JDM silver and i have carbon wrapped my bonnet centre.
i think that i will wrap the spoiler and hood mirror with carbon, and maybe the rear view camera housing, basically anything that's not cladding.

but back to the metal...... Im gonna have it plastidipped and i need to decide on a colour. The good thing is, after time, should i decide i dont want to keep that colour i can just peel it off and go back to silver.

    So far i have thought:

    Kawasaki Green

    dayglow green/yellow

    or matt sky blue

    finally, matt perl white

    thoughts?
