Standard Swap Questions

So far I am enjoying my VX as an every other daily driver. Only serious issue I have is my transmission and how it acts in reverse. Forward drive is fine but my reverse is just rough as ****. Anyways I was looking around into 5 speed swaps and I tried using the search function and google but didnt really come up with much... What I have available parts wise is a standard trans from a 2000 trooper 4x4 with transfer case, 2000 trooper clutch pedal assembly and master cylinder, we are pretty good a fabbing hydraulic lines at my shop so the clutch lines should be covered. a middle console from 1996 amigo. Just based on looking around it seems pretty straight forward, I'll lose TOD, have to figure out some wiring stuff but honestly I dont care to wire up the shift light. Am I missing anything? My shop foreman is sure we got all the bases covered but having said that my VX is the first VX in the shop in over 20 years...

There are some wiring tips I will post about tonight, as I just finished this myself and couldn't really find any diagrams. BartmanS4 was a great help in finishing it up, but I'll post some pics that will def. make it easier when you're trying to wire everything up.

Here's the How2 that Buffy started ... it's not done yet though.

IIRC he also indicated that he'd be willing to sell a wiring kit to do the job. May want to send him a PM to see if he'd be willing.

BTW eternal, I'd be happy to try & merge your How2 with Buffy's if you post it.
